Sad to hear of Kellys demise at the age of 50 from Emphysemia related illness,Was a fantastic rider for hull vikings when i went as a young un to the boulevard to watch them and the fc,a gifted rider indeed.

Dont watch the sport but sad to hear that. Only ever watched speedway when Ivan Mauger was on the go and I'm sure he was sponsored by a condom company.

Oh thats a real bummer, this week started off badly enough without that sort of news. Used to be good mates with Kelly and had some cracking nights out in Beverley, I used to mechanic for him in his first season until his old mate Pete Ravozini came over from California and took it up full time (I could only do home meetings and the odd away meet at the weekend). I stayed in touch up until about 15 or so years ago.

That is terrible news.

Used to love going to Speedway at the Boulevard in the early days when Kelly and Shawn Moran along with Dennis Sigalos were doing there stuff.

Pity the council can't find a site for a Hull Speedway team now.

It wouldn't take much, just see what they have done at Shorpe with very little. Its a terrific racing strip.

Must try and get along there one time this season.

Agree it wouldn't take much to create a track in Hull which i believe would be a success.

A sad loss and he was a top bloke as well as being a brill rider.

Very sad news, I did'nt know him personally but have many fond memories of watching him at the boulevard.

Think Shawn first rode under a 'false' name, David East?, until we signed him.

Both Kelly and Shawn were every bit as good as each other and real entertainers.
