Seeing as we have a large number of players out of contract at the end of this season, we could have some room to manouvere when it comes to recruitment.
What areas should the club be looking at when it comes to retention/recruitment?.
Fitz extending is a must for me. Would also like us to retain Hall & Houghton.
Would also like to see us signing a player such as Ratchford from Salford.
Be interested to see what others think.

signing ratchford should be a priority when salford lose their franchise! much better than myler imo, more of a creater, myler reminds me of mcguire at leeds, good support player and takes the glory of scoring simple tries whilst teamates do all the hardwork

Can't see Tickle staying unfortunately. Hope he does though.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Berrigan move on as well. Don't know anything, just a feeling I have. Would like to see him stay, but if not at least a large wedge of the salary cap will be freed up.
Are Radford & Dowes out of contract after this season?. If so, a few interesting decisions will have to be made.

in the 18th man programme from the cas match, in the berrigan interview it stated he had a 4 year contract, no mention of it being optional, so im taking it that he will be with us for 2011

Didn't see that. Thought the last year was optional. Like I say, hope he does stay. Especially as we are beginning to see what he can do with a good pack.

cusack will most likely retire

Stated in the HDM that he is now happy at Hull and is looking to stay, after his early season form that is good news.

Cant see a lot of change for next season as long as we dont have a repeat of last year, lots of good youngsters coming through.

A prop to replace Cusack should be the priority, also the signing of a young hooker to replace Berrigan is something that maybe needed as I dont think there is a young hooker coming through yet.

Apart from Cusack and maybe Calderwood I would keep all the OOC players if I had to decided now.

Would agree with that, LMS? I'm hearing this is on the cards. Deals with the quota issue aswell.

Looking at that I'd re-sign all that are OOC, except Cusack due to the quota regulations. We need a replacement for him and a young halfback for Longy to mentor in 2011.

Tickle would be a priority IMO.

I would sign up Fitz, Berrigan, Tickle, Manu and Hall without a doubt.

Not sure yet about Calderwood as we have good young players coming through who need to be looked at too.

In terms of new players I would like to see a young 6 or 7 brought in and possibly a British prop to replace Yak depending on how Moa goes this season.

I'd like a really good right centre too.

Shouldn't we wait a little bit to see how we go before committing to making mass re-signings?

We've got three very good centres - Yeaman, Hall, Briscoe, with Whiting in there too. We need another winger
to allow Briscoe to play in his natural position.

I think a few clubs will have an eye on Ratchford and would offer him the 6 shirt and a good wage, whereas at Hull he'd be competing with Horne, I'd assume. Maybe Wheeler from Saints might be an option. Long will know him and have an idea of how much potential he has.

Disagree, none of our centres have a clue at putting wingers in for tries.

Moa offers nothing, none of our centres can put a winger away, Horne has been crap since 2004 - seems like someone is on a little fishing trip.

Not really, can't help it if my opinion isn't the popular one.

Horne - has being very poor since 2004 and it is going to take more then two good performances against average teams to all of a sudden change my opinion of him overall.

Moa - I see a lot of people wanting him in the team every week and he has shown me in the games I have seen him he is not the DB's. Probably our 5th best prop and rightfully finds himself out the team. For me in the games he's played he hasn't lived upto the hype most on here give him.

Centres - Our centres have no problems scoring tries but none of them use there wingers as much as they could. We have had some good wingers with us past few seasons all with prolific try scorer records which they have not repeated during there time here.

For mine, prioritise Tickle, Manu, Fitzgibbon, Hall.

Also keep Yeaman, Whiting, and Houghton providing not for silly money.

Calderwood wait and see how our youngsters go if they get a chance, but probably another year at least anyway.

Cusack to retire, and if we can replace with the likes of McCarthy-Scarsbrook, perhaps choose between Dowes and Radford depending on who else we could also get and how Moa goes.
