| Listened to CIty v Chelsea on radio 5 tonight and there was a mention that the pitch was a state and the age old
"It is a dual sport pitch and the rugby will tear it up"
One game we have played and already we get the bloody blame for it.

| This is one thing that really makes me tick, they always say this but when they asked the groundsmen they confirmed that it is infact the football that tears up the pitch more than the rugby. Stupid tw@'s

| At a Meeting John Cooper Head groundsman at KC Stadium told the meeting ..Rugby League is not to blame for the state of the pitch .. Football cause more damage to a pitch.. reason when a player go into a sliding tackle they rip the grass up from it,s roots ..Ask yourself why in our season does the pitch look good when football ends plus if it was when Rugby was played the ground Staff would'nt reseed the pitch FACT and that not a joke

| Why are the soft 2@'s moaning ? If the pitch was like a bowling green Chelsea would probably have put 6 past them.

I thought it was well known that Agar goes truffle hunting on the KC pitch in the twilight hours.

I was chatting to a friend who is also a groundsman at the KC and he said the state of the pitch was more to do with the recent cold weather snap than anything else.Like you said the state of the pitch brought Chelsea down to city's level. Some puffball fans are never happy.

More to do with the sun.
In the winter months the pitch doesn't see much of it, unlike the summer.
Do they use the artificial lighting gantry's like other stadia use for the winter months?
Still think footy is worse for the pitch than rugby though!

| i went to the wolves match last saturday and it looked to me like the award winning groundsman had cocked up, the pitch was heavy but they'd cut it very short for the footy obviously and it looked very threadbare in places, surely if the weather is bad and the pitch very wet it would be prudent to leave the grass a bit longer? then again I've not won any awards so what would I know, one things for sure it's not rugby league that damages pitches
