Not intending to go over old ground on his departure from FC, but if you take this season in isolation and look what he's delivered with a lower quality squad and similar levels of injury to us, he deserves a lot of credit. Good gameplan again tonight, Obst taking control, kicking and turning Rovers round time and again. A good mix of so-called "negative" tactics to grind things out and yet overall an entertaining brand of rugby. Certainly gets the maximum out of what he's got available to him.

This thread has nothing to do with Rovers, it's about an ex Hull FC coach and comparing what he has achieved (5th or 6th) with a poorer squad and comparable injuries to the current FC incumbent. Get over yourself.

A good honest No7 who we would have turned our noses up to as he is "not good enough for us". The league is littered with them. Robinson, Deacon, Dobson players who week in week out put in the hard graft and have that cheeky chappy scrum half personality about them and a little bit of guile which we have lacked for so many years now. Whatever their short comings they could all have done a job for us.

Don't get involved with them ..everybody know how bitter that lot get when they lose

Whatever the reasons for ridding our club of his services they would have to be good to override the fact that his teams in general play to a plan and try to carry out that plan to the best of their collective ability. That is more than we have had recently. That said I thought their opposition tonight was ordinary.

Yet again it shows that a half back with a modicum of ability can improve the odds of his team succeeding in a game even with an average skill level.
