Understandable point, but in our CC winnign season, we punched above our weight on paper, In our 'Sharp' run to the Grand final, we did the same. They key was, no real stars, but a true team, being greater than the sum of the parts, and some key leaders on the pitch (Swain, Kearney, etc....) Couple that with a Bradford, Leeds and Wigan side who, on paper should have been better, under-performing, like we are now, and low on confidence - anything's possible.

This is sport, never give up until it's over, and it's not even started. We may not win the Monor Premireship, but we can compete in the top 6, and if we get to the point where we can beat anyone on our day - who knows.

And, if all else fails, maybe Leeds, St Helens, Wigan, Hudds and the other teams who genuinely deserve to be up there and can stay there, unlike our neighbours, might get 10 points salary cap breaking fine,which could help us also

It's not just the squad on paper, i mean, look at Huddersfield no real 'superstars' but Brown has them well diciplined and actually work together, both of which we don't do.

It's not the squad I'm too worried about, granted it's not as good as Leeds' but if we can keep everyone fit (dreaming I know) and get Horne and Yeaman back to their career best then I don't think it's that far off.

It's the coach that worries me. Whatever the excuses for this year's shambles, whichever way I think of it there's just no way I can see Agar outsmarting the likes of Potter, McLennan, Brown or T.Smith in any game, let alone when it really counts. As someone mentioned on another thread recently, with the salary cap taking more and more of an effect, the Head Coach becomes the main differentiator and ours isn't in the same league as any of those guys.

Not true. A couple of ageing superstars and an aussie prop who hasn't had a decent game in 3 years will set the world alight next year, just you wait. Throw in the mercurial agar and we can't fail

Where is this great recruitment from Leeds compared to ours for next season? Deleany - Have you even seen him play? If we had signed him people would have moaned like hell at signing an average centre and using a quota spot on him.

Eastwood is a good player and will go really well over here, who else? A Wakey prop, a Whitehaven prop and a centre from Doncaster.

It's an odd thread as you have posted the squad of the side that has won SL for the last two seasons and pointed out that our squad is not as good. Well fook me there is nothing like stating the obvious.

I don't know about people sticking up for the club but some people, of which you top the list, moan about every single thing connected to the club. Fair enough we all have a moan, but you do nothing but moan so if you want to put labels on people for how they post then you should maybe start with yourself.

Paul has said what most posters think, I would label you a pessimist. You have some very valid points but overall you are extremely negative about every-thing to do with our club.

Even as a realist you would have a balanced opinion on issues to do with the club. The fact is you don't, all do you do is offer a worst case scenario/pessimistic opinion from everything to do Hull FC. In fact if anyone even dares to offer a balanced viewpoint you put them in the bracket that is your silly signature.

I agree with you on various issues but you never seen any good or positives in anything regarding the club these days so that does not make you a realist.
