Just a thought, we started the season with 5 wins from 5, can we finish with 5 wins from 5 remaining games, i'm not that hopeful though.

Think the fact we won the forward battle last night was a big difference (first time we've won it for a while imo) and against Hudersfield and Catalan that'll be very difficult.

Like you say the play offs have certainly gone. Maybe in a funny way that will take the pressure off?

The team owe us after far too many substandard performances and three home wins in what remains of the season would be a good way to repay us in part. Wigan and Catalans away will be very tough but who knows we may sneak one of those too.

Fair play to the 600 to a 1000 fans who turned up to get behind their team, Hull played some good rugby last night made a lot easier by not having 10,000 fans booing when things are not going well. I suppose you were all singing old faithfull in front of the tv at 12-0. that is one Rovers got a way with, didn't play well but won, quite pleased really keeps Agar & Sharp in a job !

After running in 30 points against Leeds I thought we might have turned a bit of a corner but then it was same old, same old the following week against Cas so I guess we'll see next weekend.
The most frustrating thing for me is that they looked a half decent team last night when they all actually pull together, play as a team and show some enthusiasm. So why can't they do that every week?

The better team won on the day, yes you gave us a game, yes you played better than you have for a while, however dont start kidding yourselves about how good you have now become,you are a poor side, have been most of the season, its drivvle like this that makes it hard for anyone to feel any sort of sympathy for you.

we haven't turned any corners or made any progress until the team start turning up and playing for the full 80mins every week

Yesterday we played for about 75mins after a shakey start...but it was a commited display.

we need to back that up with similar, and not the usual 60mins of doing nothing, losing the game then staging a comeback in the last 20 when the games gone.

If anyone thinks that we have "turned a corner" they are dillusional !!

We have, for the first time in a long long time, played with effort and spirit only to be totally ripped off by a ref's decision which was incredibily poor.

In reality though, we have lost to a very poor rovers team because we were not good enough to put them away. A half decent team would have stuffed that overated pile of $hite yesterday but we managed to lose it somehow.

Silverwood was a total clown but apart from an unusual and unexpected effort, we weren't that much better.

Hull were decent, rovers were ordinary and Silverwood was shocking !!

I don't see a great deal to be encouraged about. Can't fault the lads' effort at all but it was two poor sides out there yesterday (Rovers have shown in other games they are capable of far better than that). Yes on another day we could have won if it weren't for poor refereeing but I saw nothing to suggest that while Agar is in charge the future is anything but bleak.

Our trys came from off-the-cuff moves or individual efforts rather than structured plays (because we have none), our attacking play lacked crispness and incision and was riddled with basic errors (symptomatic of the poor coaching the players have recieved throughout the season IMO). To top it off the man who our coach announced he had made no special plans to neutralise scored two trys and set up another.

After the Leeds game I managed to make myself believe we might of turned the corner but it seems to me now all that is happening is that once we go behind the players abandon whatever Agar has told them to do and start throwing the ball around because they've got nothing to lose, to me this demonstrates that Agar is stifling what talent there is in the squad.

Hence the ? in the thread title - not a statement just a possibility. In the extremely unlikely scenario that we beat 3rd placed Huddersfield on Friday we might then say this game was a turning point. In the more likely scenario we revert to a half-@rsed 5 drives, hands on hips performance and get a good hiding, then yesterday was obviously a blip. Thing is you can't say with certainty.

Granted, It was a better performance than of late but I dont think Hudds will be cacking themselves either on our performance yesterday. Any decent side would have racked up 30 before half time.
