How come every other side moves up quickly in a defensive line, pressurising the oppostion and restricting yardage gain, yet we just stand there and let them make 10 metres with no effort?

Because the players can't be[i d [/i although it does seem every time we do try and pressurise teams with fast line speed we get penalised for offside.

Its been like that for weeks hasnt it but at least now it was brought up by the pundits on Sky if Agar watches a re-run during the week it may now be brought to his attention !!

Its not that they can't be bothered. They are just poor at controlling the ruck and therefore the other team constantly get a quick ptb. The only player who is good at it is Cusack and he's out for the year.

It's one of the many areas that needs work. We see it in every game so why doesn't our coaching team?

We move up with the speed of an oil tanker and get caught out wide too much.

Its one of a handful of basics we dont do well.

We dont move up quick enough
We dont fight to get up off the floor to ptb
We arent smart enough in holding the opposition down
We stand too flat in attack to use the ball
We seem to not have the ability for Horne and Thorman to link to spread the ball
Our kicking game is non existent.

But apart from that were sheet hot !!!

And we give away stupid penalties for offside. We conceded a penalty in the first 20 minutes last nigth when our defender (couldnt see who it was) was five yards in front of the ref and had made no attempt to get back. I'd fine the lazy bast@rds for conceding penalties like that in the first 20 mins of a game

The worst thing is, Agar has the players all week for training and not one of my points above has improved over the last year or two. What do any of the coaches actually work on with the players during the week? Do they all just sit around chatting?

Thats my point about what they do in training and what Agar works on. Clueless. Ive not seen any improvement in those areas for some time now.

Every facet of our game is slow. We must be the slowest team in SL.

That became really relevant when i went to Edinburgh and was able to watch all other teams as a neutral. We were slower than Celtic ffs!!
