the thing is.. i get your point, alot of negativity. But people are annoyed when we win but dont show signs that we can beet better teams. If we played KR we would loose on that performance.

We pretty much lose to KR whenever we play them, plus they're a consistent 2nd in the table, so that's not really the benchmark.



We have a few things to be cheerful about. With 15 games left we're only 5 points off last season's points total. Richard Horne has recovered well from a serious injury and is in good form. We (in theory) have 5 internationals to come in that would be in our starting 13. Calderwood is a major surprise package (in a good way). Our young players like Lee, Houghton and Burnett are looking effective at this level, which bodes well for the future.

Cas are not a poor side. They're not as good as they think they are, but they're not poor. And while we didn't tear up any trees or frighten too many sides yesterday, we did play some decent stuff at times. In particular we out-offloaded a side touted as one of the most attack-minded in the league.

It was another modest step in the right direction.

And it doesnt look amazing does it!

In patches it was approaching it. Which is an improvement from a few weeks ago.

the only way we will play any better is by getting a new no7,plus a new prop who can break defences.

Free flowing rugby doesn't always win games and thats whats important, saying that neither does "safety first" percentage rugby. The hard part is getting the balance right.

If we played free flowing rugby every week but lost every game by 2 points (eg.34-32) you'd still be whining.
