| Lazy, at fault for Wakeys 1st try, doesn't want to tackle and had his hands on his knees after 10 minutes, his attitude is all wrong, if Crocker gets here his place should be under threat, Tickle had the right attitude last night and ran his balls of and tackled his heart out, MANU WAS DISINTERESTED AND HAS BEEN FOR WEEKS.

| I feel sorry for Manu, there seems to be a massive reliance on him breaking the line because nobody else can.

| What a load of bo11ocks! The guy is an impact player not an 80 minute one! The sooner Agar starts playing him as he should the bloody better. He is facked every game because he is being played for too long, he provides no attacking threat cos he always tackling. When we are in an attacking position he never sees the ball cos we don't use that flank.
Just face it, with Agar at the helm, we will have no chance!

In a nutshell for me. Flogging an impact player to death. Don't necessarily blame Agar entirely for this given that we're so low on numbers, but we've had cover in 2nd row and chosen to play Manu for 80 minutes too often.

| Manu was more effective when he was supposedly unfit, overweight and only able to play in 20 minute bursts.
To expect him to play hell for leather like an impact player for 70 - 80 minutes each week is frankly ridiculous. He was clearly out on his feet last night but was left on the pitch while other players where subbed, rightly or wrongly.

| I posted this on another thread, and it seems apt for this one:
Quote ="carl_spackler"Some can't, which annoys me. A group of blokes behind me spent the game slagging Manu off for not making enough effort. When I pointed out he's been playing 80 minutes for too long I was told it shouldn't matter because he's a professional. If the bloke behind me was paid that much he'd be able to go out there and work his nuts off for a full game every week.
Personally, I liken it to a boxer taking on 2 others in alternating rounds. It doesn't matter how good and fit he is, the 2 have the huge advantage of a rest. Over the course of the contest it will show and he'll receive a pasting.'"
If people can't see or appreciate the effect the overplaying of him is having they need to have a good think about it. It's the way he is being utilised that is at fault, which is another coaching problem, not a player problem.
I think the guy deserves to be a cut a little slack rather than singled out.

| Yes we are overplaying him but he shows the opposition he knackered by looking disinterested thats what I'm saying, if he is knackered then try not to show the opposition this otherwise they will run at you all day. He is a good player but in short 20 minute spells.

A hell of a lot easier said than done. I think there's a line between looking disinterested and exhausted. He still takes the ball in and was bursting forward out of the line to make tackles. That's actually a mistake probably brought on by not thinking clearly, but it certainly shows he is interested. He simply can't maintain it for the length of time he is on the pitch and it's affected him after several games in a row.
And most teams already run at him all day and stick 2 players near him whenever we have the ball. We're simply that predictable and easy to counteract.
Quote ="Ellam"He is a good player but in short 20 minute spells.'"
Exactly. But how is he at fault if he's sent out there for longer than that? You can't really blame him for that, he's simply doing as he is instructed. It comes down to more basic errors from our coaching staff.

Agree. Last night i told my mate that if we stopped him then we would effectivily stop Hull. Think saying he's lazy is a bit harsh, he's an impact player so was kept on a bit too long IMO. Think he'd be better coming off the bench rather than starting!

| so if Manu is showing the opposition he is knackered out on the pitch
why does AGAR not replace him with a fresher player and give the lad a rest?

| Manu is being run into the ground due to Agar & Sharp's clueless tactics and rotation policy. No wonder he's looking jaded.

| I think part of the problem with Manu and also Yeaman to a large extent, is that they're runners.
Runners need gaps or at least a bit of space to create one. We treat our running players like props = Pass and drive.
There's a total lack of creative/inventive play/players.

Until last night Manu has been our best player.
As for Tickle. He has been very poor this season.
If you want to see a player lazy in defence then watch Tickle. Watch the try by Judas in the Derby and although Horney took his dummy he was Tickle's man to tackle but he was taking it easy Does that far too often.

Manu is a 40 minute impact 2nd row and not an 80 minute starter. Agar uses his wrong. FWIW Manu isnt the only player that Agar appears to be mis-using thus making them look dis-interested.

| For me Manu has lost too much weight and is not as effective when going in to the collision. When he was bigger and playing in short stints ala Feks at Wigan he was awesome to watch. Manu i clearly an impact player and a naturally big bloke. He ought to get that bulk back on and he should be used in 15 minute stints. As for Yeaman he too loks leaner and less powerful going forward, looked shadow of his former self last night, God I remember him ripping JD to pieces one year not so many moons ago on his way to scoring 4 tries!
