I still stick with the fact we where right not to sign dobson because it would have broken our wage structure, at a time when we had the Carvell situation etc it would have been a very tricky path to walk.

It's simply because Rovers signed him and we didn't that people claim not to rate him, if he was playing for any other SL club those same people would be claiming he's exactly what we need. He's a cracking player and far superior in all aspects to what we currently have. Until this club signs a similar player or better we will continue to underachieve IMO.

In the past....just like you say we are.....was $hit hot in Oz though wasnt it.

His 1st kick of the game resulted in a try, he continued to boss the game in the first half. In the second half he was less effective I accept, but all in all he was clearly the best half back on the pitch, which contributed to his side winning the game.

horses for courses. dobson does not need to be making breaks and things like rob burrow does. he is an organizer. does more with his talking and directing other players. i'm old school but a true scrum half should be able to come off the pitch with a virtually a clean shirt.

Dobson is nothing more than average.In the first half when we stood off him he looked decent but when we closed him down in the second half his kicking was poor and so were some of his decisions.

Dobson's nothing. He's got a good kicking game when given time and space, but that's about it. Whilst that would be better than what we have currently, it still isn't anywhere near enough for a team that should be challenging. There are far, far better halves around throughout the game and to suggest we should have shelled out on Dobson, paying over the odds, is nonsense.

Yes there are but unfortunately we didn't sign any of them either instead we got Thorman and they say you get what you pay for

Certainly, and I never have been a fan of Thorman. My point was more that HKC's constant praise for both Dobson and his own 'decision' that we should've signed him is unwarranted.

Didnt think he played that well today tbh his kicking game wasnt that good apart from the 1st try and he took a lot of wrong options in attack

And that only became a good kick because of the chase. Thorman's kick at the end could have resulted in a try without the great covering of Briscoe.
