As expected, Gleeson has signed for Wigan for a reported 6 figure sum. Good signing for them IMO. I think Gleeson still remains the best British centre in the game.

Does it also show that every player has a price? and that the some clubs are far more ambitious in terms of recruitment? or simply they have bags of money.

what it shows is that the club have people in charge who are aiming to win things,not balance books....success costs,when its profit not passion youre screwed,hfc board please take note

My thoughts exactly. I get the impression that the Directors are happy as long as they receive their loan repayments and the club makes a profit. Winning trophies isn't a priority and they are falling further and further adrift from the fans of this club.

It's not Rule's fault. He's at the helm of a club makiing a profit, exactly what the directors (his bosses) want.

This is the reason we won't have gone after Gleeson, and it pi$$es me off in all honesty.

Adopting the Wigan model for player recruitment is madness.

not suggesting adopting the wigan recruitment policy on block,they have made some bad signings in the past,and also some great ones but at least they are in the mix,how many times do you see wigan linked with the top marquee players like lockyer,barrett,kimmorley,tallis,fittler and many more not very often players of that type are linked to hull fc,mainly due to the fact that their owners/directors are fans of the club and not out to make cash but win trophies,it pains me to say it but neil hudgell is another example of what happens when a true fan with passion for his team becomes the chairman of the club,he digs deep to find that extra cash to swing the deal on your top players,im not happy about that as i am a HFC fan but unforunately it is a fact

just how do they afford it , wonder if they may be looking to get rid of any players to balance it , they got rid of mathers in the deal but no mention of goulding
