| My friend has experienced problems with regards to his son’s junior pass. They had both traveled away to the Bradford game and when it came to trying to enter the KC for last weeks home game, they realised that the turnstile operator at Bradford had ripped out the no3 voucher of his sons season pass.
My friend was told that they knew about the problem and, that the bulls had used the wrong voucher from the vast majority of Hull junior season pass holders who had attended the game. To cut a long story short, they were passed from between the KC ticket office and the Hull office, where they were met by someone who had obviously not yet had any customer relations training and basically told my mate it was not their problem and a mistake of the bulls that they were aware of and he would have to pay if he wanted his son to see the Cas game.My friend has now sent two e-mails to James Rule on this matter and is yet to receive a reply, although for the life of me I can’t figure out why either of us is surprised or shocked by this.
It’s ok the club having statements on their web site that basically say that it is the season pass holders responsibility to hand over the correct voucher, but is this always possible? My friend’s son is 10 and has to enter the ground in a different turnstile. He, as usual for away games asked the turnstile operator which voucher was needed. The operator took his pass off him and ripped out the voucher before handing it back. As they have not experienced any problems in the past, my friend then took his sons pass off him when they were in the ground, unsuspecting that there was a problem.
I feel that this is another issue that could and should have handled better. But because it probably only effects the lemmings who they know will continue to support them and not the corporate types they seem to crave, they don’t really give a flying .

James Rule not replyig to emails, never.
Maybe the new "Community" director will help?
Surely if the knew about the problem they should just have said, for this one occasion, you only needed the pass itself. Talk about shooting themselves in the fott.

The kids have got other vouchers in the back of thier pass, so they could have taken one of those. Apparantly it affected a lot of people, but Hull were just happy to continue to tell people it was Bradfords fault. They seemed to struggle with the fact that it was the junior fans of Hull FC that were affected by this and were unwilling to help.
Just another example for me of how little the club (not the players or coaching staff) appreciate the general fan.

That's what I mentioned to my mate the other day, but he was originally happy to contact Mr Rule.
I suppose we can see how many people post on here that have had the same or similar problem and then if FC voices want to pick it up I am sure my friend would be willing to work with them and provide them with his story.
It just puzzles me that the club find it enough of a problem to post a statement on their website, yet they are unwilling to contact or reply personally to the fans that it has affected and have made the time and effort to bring this problem to the clubs attention in the first place.

I'll give you my opinion now.
I have 2 boys and have been to countless away games with them and used their passes. You know which are the home and away tickets within the passes. I have always given the lads their passes open at the relevent page, checked with the turnstile operator and then torn the ticket out and kept the pass.
I'm sorry if I sound harsh but the club aren't there to wipe your backsides. The tickets are clearly marked in the passes.
I now await the torrent of abuse lol!!!

But it shouldn't be beyond the realms of reason that, on a one off occasions where the club were already aware of a problem, they do something about it?
But it wil involve FCVoices being critical of the club, hmmmm, not gonna happen is it.

If it had only affected a couple of people then you could put it down to poor judgement, but my friend was led to believe from the turnstile operator at the KC, stewards, the ticket office and even the Hull FC office that this was a problem that had affected quite a few people. There must be some truth in that as there is now a statement in on the website with regards to issues surrounding the use of passes.
As I have mentioned, my friends son is 10 years old, regardless of which page he has his pass opened at by his Dad, he is going to hand his pass over to the turnstile operator if asked to do so, as would most 10 year olds.
I am sure that my friend and any others affected by this will use extra caution when using their junior passes at future away games, but surely it is not too much to expect the club to show a little compassion and assistance when dealing with matters like this.

I have just been in the shower after writing what I wrote above and I did think to myself that the club could've been a bit more sensitive and lenient with the kids who'd had the wrong ticket off them. If it was just one or two I could understand it but if it was as many as has been stated then a goodwill gesture wouldn't have killed them.

I take that personally. You know me well enough to know that I couldn't give 2 hoots what committee I'm on...if I'm not happy, I'll say so as the other members of the group will testify after the last meeting when I let rip about the £1 'Donation' I was forced to make.

Not having a go Karren, just getting my point accross. My friend, like most, had not come across any problems using his son's junior pass for away games in the past, but I am sure will be on his toes in the future.

| Its not hard to do is it, in the rovers pass the away vouchers are a different colour at the back of the pass. It is your responsibility to take out the right ticket and hand it over to the turnstyle operator. I dont blame the club for saying its not for them to sort out you could take a numbered ticket out the home ones and give it to a mate and then say it was taken out by the away stewards and get a replacement, the club loses out

| At Bradford they deserve great credit for having 'combined' turnstiles where they allow adults and children to go through the same turnstile. This is what I did with my 6 year old and I tore out the voucher on his behalf knowing it was the correct one. The combined turnstile was a great idea it means you don't have to leave a young 'un to wait at the other sde of the turnstile while the adult queues elsewhere, and you can 'manage' the voucher transaction on the child's behalf.
In any case I see it as the accompanying adult's responsibility to ensure the correct managing of the voucher and if I'd had to accompany my lad to the concession turnstile and sort the voucher out before joining the adult queue I would have done so. I hope our club can help more in resolving this problem created by Bradford's turnstile staff but at the end of the day I disagree that Hull FC have 'handled this badly'. Maybe the accompanying adults can learn from this episode and handle their own situation better in the future - no disrespect to anyone concerned.
