Regardless of the Horne v McGoldrick debate Hornes already signed and will be cover. Horne won't be in the 17 unless someones injured, McGoldrick wouldn't be either.

Say a first choice NRL HB becomes available during the season, would you rather miss out on signing them because we have McGoldrick and Horne taking up cap space ?

But no matter how much better you think Goldie is, Richard Horne is ALREADY contracted to the club meaning anything the club have left to pay a new scrum half you would have them spend some of it on another back up squad player

We're stuck with horne for 2013. mcgoldrick seems to offer a bit more but nowhere near the class we need and a waste of salary cap for a back up player. We should play the long game and wait to see who becomes availale

It does matter to some posters they may have book holidays and like to know what teams they would miss. The time that they are away .Some people are booking 2013 holidays now

See on another website we may have got a very tough first few games. Would we fancy Leeds early doors with their WCC distractions? Personally I don't mind the idea of some difficult fixtures early - see where you're at and theoretically a chance to catch some top teams cold.

Thank you - I understand that but if you have a holiday booked already if it is Leeds or Saints or Cas nothing will alter - knowing what the fixtures are now will not make any difference. Just wait - we as supporters cannot alter anything. Except our Holidays of course

Where have I said I would rather see Horne than Mcgoldrick?

Horne is contracted, Mcgoldrick isn't, personally I think both would eb decent backup's, but do we need both of them?

Personally I think that Horne is a better FB than Mcgoldrick, but Mcgoldrick better at halfback as he creates more.

As for Nicklas, I sort of agree, but he hasn't been given that much of a chance, this season is his last chance to prove he can make it at Hull.

McGoldrick more determination than Horne? Get away, have you seen how much strapping Horne wears? Most players would cry off with that, but he plays busted every week, if that isn't determination then I don't know what is.

He probably isn't quite good enough for a place in our 17 any more, but there won't be many better second choice full backs in Super League next season.

With all due respect Dave, Lauaki was hardly ripping up trees with us but he signed for the then champions.

IMO McGoldrick showed he was more effective than Horne in the few games he played and showed in a decent team he is not the cheap shot merchant some thought him to be.

That being said, if there was someone else available and willing to come to Hull, that would be a different matter.

Leeds start slowly and build for the play offs, which to be fair, has worked a treat for them. They aim to be at full pelt for about round 6 -8, meaning they are still a little under cooked in the early rounds.
