The latest HDM article quoting Gentle re the halfback school and the game having more than the physical dimension is so refreshing to hear. For years we've been a "thick" team with little or no intelligence. He clearly sees that it's essential to have a brain as well as a heart. What a difference too in attitude towards the halfback position from one Shaun McRae who said as our coach that in the modern game you didn't need a natural 7! That "utility" attitude that developed probably 10 years ago is what has left our game with such a shortage of creative halfback talent. PG is going to be this club's best signing in years.

You can only applaud the club for trying to solve a problem we've had for years , Especially when there's meagre pickings around. I just hope Prince & Holdsworth stay fit long enough to strike up an exiting partnership which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Why do people bother with this kind of criticism? It's a rumours thread, not a fact thread, and the bloke has posted something he's been told. Nobody is obliged to believe it.

What's 'pointless' is criticising people for posting rumours on a rumours thread, or demanding said rumours come with 'back up'.

Agreed. Beats me why people read a thread clearly labelled 'rumours' and then criticise people for posting rumours. Even highly plausible rumours.

Some of us on here quite enjoy the info you post, i believe you post wot u hear, and it is a rumours thread afterall, any rumours on when he may be announced.

The Prince situation is no longer a rumour as the club have openly stated their intent.

Within the countless rumours threads there has been posting of players names simply as they were OOC. That's hardly a rumour that Hull were interested.

To Diogenes, at what point did I ask for a link on the net? I asked for some form of back up to the statement. To even make it mildly plausible would you not expect some basis of assumption?

It beats me why the mods allow a thread to evolve over months which has so much evidence of out and out lies. That specific player threads get locked or merged into the serial rumours threads means reading it becomes the only way of following possible signings.

As stated earlier, Prince is hardly a rumour when the club have confirmed their interest.

If you like a good rumour, how about this one. I "heard" that a certain SL coach would be delighted to see some of our senior players on the team sheet due to their level of predictability. He "apparently" said he was amazed Hull actually won as many games as they did during 08-11 due to the lack of creativity.

The other is McDonnel.

Forgot about him in all the excitement.

The other is McDonnell. Kinda gave it away in the article on the club's site where it said that he's gone to talk to a 'former NRL player', not a current NRL player. This means that he most recently played for a SL club but has now left.

All of this fits in with McDonnell.

Yes, well this Hull supporter doesn't sponge in unsubstantiated claims that some seem to thrive upon.

But I suppose it's to be expected from someone who said Hull were in talks with Thurston. Another load of unsubstantiated tosh.
