I don't think I'd want him anymore. Too old and seems to be picking up a few injuries.

| Wouldn't take him either.
As for Taylor I mentioned on here a few weeks back about him returning to Hull to come play for us. Which had come from his father during the derby at KR.

I don't know the kid or his Family so I'm just going by what people were telling me on Sunday and that is Hull want him but he's got a couple of other clubs chasing him Leeds being one of them.
I thought he'd signed a 3yr deal at Wigan which would make me wonder if they're releasing him for free then the last thing I'd want is to give him to one of our main competitors, I'm tlking about Leeds obviously.

| Think we had the best year out of Manu and re-signing would be a mistake IMO.
If Taylor comes I would expect Carvell and one other prop to go, to try and balance the squad out better.

| Radders quote in the HDM about player retention:
Quote It's really difficult because you have a bloke who plays really well one week and poor the next. How do you decide to put a line through that bloke or give them another opportunity when they are doing that?'"
To be honest if it was me I would put a line through these players he's unsure about. If we want consistency we need to get rid of the inconsistent players rather than giving them another chance and hoping they come good. By all means give them that chance whilst they are still contracted with us but don't reward them with another contract to give them more time.

By Radfords own admission, youngsters will always deliver inconsistency, however if its a player who is 26+
I'd get rid.
I'm unsure about signing high profile forwards, who would appear to take large chunks of the cap.
when our more immediate priority, is to secure a HB.

| I understand we are signing Scott Taylor, presumably to replace Carvell.
I also heard the Manu rumour but didn't give it much credence and then it pops up again on here. It would be a backward step IMO. I didn't want him to leave but having left I dont want him to come back 2 years older.

My thoughts too. Great player when we had him but I can't see him being as good two years later.

It's all about balance but I would say the most sucessful teams are built around a dominant pack.

| We've said it for years, its a half back we need. we have plenty of good forwards and good outside backs.
If Carvs and Horne retire (imo they will) pitts and Kent go, use all that money PLUS any we have left over and get a new half back, a world class, proven, and of decent age.
Then should any others go then look at other positions

You don't want much do you!
On a serious note though, half back should be the priority (as always with us). As much as I would love to see one that matches Offy's criteria I doubt we can attract a world class half (come on FC prove me wrong here ) but should be going all out to find a proven one at a decent age.

Who? It's all well and good saying we need a player that fits into a description, but simply put, who fits that description, and is actually available (at any price)? Hull won't be the only ones chasing halfbacks either, Warrington have a lot of cap space and are supposedly chasing halfbacks, saints will need a new halfback if the hohaia rumours are true (Walsh himself quashed the rumours he was unhappy), and Leeds will have to start the process of replacing the golden trio sooner or later.
I'm sure every team in super league would love DCE in their teams, and he fits that description, but it's not likely to happen!

You dont have to tell us, we have been looking since 2007, its the hardest position to fill in world rugby.
Saints will be after a runner to work with Walsh, so if he stays I dont think yo will be in competition, shame about wheeler as when fit looks a great player
Dobson is the obvious one, but as you say Warrington and maybe Leeds will be after him.
My fear is that Bradford will get relegated and we will sign Luke Gale.

Only ones I would disagree with are watts and probably whiting. Watts has been messed about by radford. he was our best prop in the derby then gets dropped so not sure what the issue is

I'd rather have Crookes than the bin man, if that means giving Crookes a run out on the left when Lineham comes back then so be it, I don't see that Talanoa offers anything more than Crookes IMO and in fact Crookes is bigger AND faster.
As for getting rid of all our halves..sorry but that's just crazy, keeping Rankin is a must because he offfers more than Horne and if we are to get a 7 then we need somebody bedded in at 6 already.
Miller must be given longer to play, this season at least, I'm not saying he is the solution & we keep him but let's be honest, at times we have been absolutely gash and we are not a one man team. Despite everything that has been said of him, he's 21 and at times he's had poor first pass service behind a pack getting dominated, how many other teams in the bottom half of the league have a 21 year old no.7 that is dominant and looking like an all-star when you're just not that good as a team?
Add into that that our gameplan is poor and doesn't suit his natural flamboyant style, he will go somewhere else and flourish I have no doubt.

Well you seem to be in the minority where Talanoa is concerned. The general consensus seems to be that we get his signature on an extended contract asap. Still you're entitled to an opinion, even a wrong one!!
