We know the season isnt over and Losing Ellis is a massive massive blow and we couldnt have foreseen the Seymour saga but we have lost 1 h/b for most likely the season and another 1 is having a lot of problems with his health then why havent we looked at a loan signing like we did last season and there are halfs available but we wouldnt know if we dont ask.As for Gentles selection today,im sorry but it smacks of desperation...he had no qualms about blooding youngsters last season in pressure matches so why not this year??????????????????

How do we know that we haven't enquired? Or maybe Gentle would rather not get a loan half in for what might only be one or two games? Holdsworth has been close to playing most games he's missed by all accounts, and this latest miss is supposed to be down to a bug rather than any lingering effect of his concussion.

I have no idea why Gentle hasn't played some more youngsters today, but if I had to guess based on his recent comments in the press it's most likely because he thinks we've got enough inexperienced players in the side already. Or maybe he just doesn't think that Shaul and Niklas are ready (in the first instance) or good enough (in the second).

I think the only thing Gentle is desperate about is having DJ on the pitch as it's clear that without him we have no brains out there.

If we win then good but just worries me that we didnt take adaquete cover.

Heremia at 7 I'd agree doesn't work, although personally I don't think that Niklas would be any improvement.

Briscoe at FB worked OK the last time we tried it. And at least he should get his hands on the ball more often in attack.

What inexperience...both Crooks and Lineham have enough matches under their belts now to be classed as expeirenced and didnt Gentle extend Shauls contract and have him training with 1st team hence his squad number.

If He was going to miss a game then I'd rather Holdsworth missed this game and by "fit" for the Easter period , Looking at the conditions , It's going to be route one rugby anyway.

As I said, that was based on recent comments in press conferences when he's mentioned how many players we have who are still learning and 'rookie mistakes' being made. In particular if he thinks that today's game is going to be a defence-dominated slog - and looking at the pitch who'd argue - then he might prefer not to add a player with no SL experience.

You can swap players in case of injury, but not if a player in the 19 had a pre-existing injury or medical condition. For example, if Holdsworth was poorly/injured and we named him in the 19 hoping he'd get fit enough to play then we couldn't swap him out if he didn't.

Tom's played 9 games for us, and Ben Crooks has only played 20 games in his career so hardly a wealth of experience there.

That is a must...we will have some serious money freed up and i wouldnt take up the 3rd yr option on Heremia either...use Cunningham as Houghtons back up and Heremias money for a H/B...few murmers about Gaskell mind.
