I can't understand why some fans are so indifferent to Manu staying (if possibly true). He showed against Leeds what he brings to the team and would continue to bring, if he stays.
When we announced Ellis, I was so excited about seeing our back row for next season, with Manu AND Ellis together.
I hope it's true and he does stay, but I personally, will be gutted if he leaves.

Not really seen much of him at Saints but looking at their forum not to many of them seem to bothered about him leaving.

Decent SL player, strong defence but doesn't have the X factor in attack, looked a lot better at Cas than Saints.

He wouldn't be a bad signing, but I would hope for a younger player with a bit of potential, especially in attack.

Pi$$ poor, Saints have been far from impressed and the fact his next gig looks like rovers shows his decline in status and form. If we go after Shenton this would be a step back imo.

Agree Shenton hasn't looked as good at Saints as he did at Cas, but if he could find that form again he is a decent player, just not top 4 calibre, and certainly not worth the kind of money he'll probably be looking for. I certainly wouldn't be happy about losing Turner and recruiting the very player he's looking like replacing elsewhere for probably more money, I'd much prefer the Arundel rumour to be true.

Always looked a decent player in a decent Cas side but has looked well below par in a poor St's team and I would've have expected to see him stand out more TBH. One player who may have already played his best stuff and maybe his heart just aint there at St's.

Things are quiet this week. Am I the only one who has heard we have signed Russell on a 3 year deal to be announced after his loan spell ends? This is from a good source, a good friend of a player. If true he must have been training the house down I recon. Yes he played well against Leeds but a 3 year deal on the back of one game!?
Then I thought about it and apart from Whiting, its looking like we will only have 'old man' Horne as a full back next year! Good cover / a long term replacement maybe? Hope its true, won't be on rock star wages, English and will @iss Clarky off I recon, nicking a Wigan player!
Generally the Wigan fans seam to think the kids go forward has the potential to be top draw, mixed reports about his positional play / 1 on 1 defence though.

No way would Wigan let Russel come to Hull, just like they would never have let Charnley go to the dobbins. He is very highly rated and here for no more than experience.
