| This must be good news, but I want wait till the press conference at 10:00 before making any firm judgement . As yet we don't know board wise who's going to be charge, will Kath be still involved, I have always felt with her husband at Leeds and her as chair over us, that has held the club back, so a clean break and new ideas has to be good . Reserving judgement but keeping the Faith.

| If Pearson is acting independently it sounds great news. The bloke will have a pretty good idea what the club is all about surely.

you can doff your cap if you wish, I remember these people didn't invest in Hull FC and were given the club for nothing, in fact, were given the club to save their own investment in Gateshead.
they have made no losses if they have sold for £3m, FC would be here, with, or without them.

| It was rumoured at Ferriby on tuesday that Adam was looking for a way out of City, but nothing was mentioned about FC.
Also, not sure who mentioned it but it was Duffen in charge at City when Jimmy signed in January 09, Pearson came back in about October 09.
I'd be pleased to see him take over at FC, and don't believe the Allams would have any involvement with the takeover.

| Pearson is a buisnessman and will know Rugby League does not make a good buisness. Even with greater success on the field it will not lead to great profits, the only way i see this as a possative is if he has fallen out with the Allams and wants to prove a point. Having talked to Pearson in the past i fear there will be another motive for this move.

they wouldn't call a press conference for that, they would just release a statement.

| I am hoping they say. Pearson is the new sole owner, the old board have done one, Agar has resigned and took his coaching team with him, Nobby is the new coach, & Rule agreed to stay (he has done a good job)...

| Quote ="Staffs FC"4 or 5 years ago a Pearson bid would have been far more agreeable. As things stand it seems like another of Allam's chess pieces has been moved. If AP opens with an unequivocal statement of support for Hull FC remaining independent and a club in its own right, with a cast iron long term lease at the KC to back that up, then maybe I will change my opinion. I'm one for trusting gut reaction and mine to this news is total suspicion.
For those who seem to want to talk down the current board's achievements I would remind them that without this board and the decisions they have made there probably wouldn't be a club any more. We have underachieved even with two CC finals and a grand final in the last decade, however we are also profitable and on a sound footing. A change of direction on the field, if it happens, will not be unwelcome, but don't slag the body of people who have ensured there is still a Hull FC club to support.'"
The only 2 scenarios I can see are that he's either directly acting for allam and it's a long term acquisition to give him total control of the KC or pearson sees the strategic importance of Hull FC in allam's long term objectives and sees securing the club for £3m or so now as a fairly easy way to make some cash by selling it to allam at some time in the future.
Many years of dealing with people in business has taught me to trust no one

| It all fits together now, the rumours about Rule looking for employment elsewhere. He will have been aware of these developments and would anticipate Adam Pearson wanting to run the club as Chairman or CEO.

| He's got a good track record, was at Leeds when they went into financial meltdown, went to city and sold them to bartlett and co, off to derby did a couple of years and sold them then back to city and had to turn to Allam due to city being in financial meltdown. Not yet left a club in a better position than when he took over.
With Allams sudden found fondness for KR after previously not being interested in RL and now Pearsons interest in FC after again previously not being interested in RL it certainly makes for interesting times.

So a 10.00 press conference becomes a 10.06 appearance of a story on the FC website?

He was hardly responsible for the Leeds meltdown. That lies firmly at the door of Ridsdale and O'Leary.
Selling City to another buyer is hardly bad business and look what happened when he did.
The Derby thing is no big deal and he cam back to City after years of Duffen mismanagement and did what he needed to do to sort things out.
I don't know the guy, but I think you're being a bit too negative there old fella.

A statement you cannot back up in any way shape or form. The club was effectively out of business at the point of merger. Sure some incentives were put in place and obviously the cash allowed it to happen but the right decisions still had to be made. Since then the off the field operations have been second to none and whilst not 'doffing my cap' I can see the positive things they have done for my club and unlike yourself I don't mind the fact that they haven't lost any money doing it and I don't find it difficult to offer praise when some things have been done well.
Anyway it's not really about that BOD now so it seems.

Where have I said I begrudge them not losing money, I applaud them for it, where do I say they have not done some things well, they have indeed, but they have failed miserably in the single most important thing for any sporting team, on the field success.

I'm sorry but are you for real? When he joined Hull City they were in Division 3, when he left they were in the Premiership.. how is ithat not in a better position? Also, when he joined Derby they were in Administration, they haven't been in one since.
With that said... I'm extremely sceptical over the deal and I hope it doesn't happen. As Paul said, better the devil you know than the devil you don't. I aren't 'worried' about Allams connection, I'm absolutely 'scared stiff'. Adam Pearson, the man who has 'never been interested in Rugby', joins with the Allams at Hull City, the man who is 'saving the city' and has made numerous comments about how adamant he is to own the KC. I'm guessing, in theory, whoever owns Hull FC gets their say in the SMC and as such could take them over, terminate the contract, then leave?

| They're saying on Humberside that Pearson could be making an appearance on on Burnsy's morning show after 9am.
May get some clarification then.

Maybe I am but he seems to leave a trail mismanagement behind him, the biggest worry I have is the link between Allam and Pearson and the coincidence that they ahve both got involved in RL at exactly the same time after both saying they weren't interested at all.
The idea that this is a way for him to distance himself from Allam makes no sense whatsoever, his team will still play in the KC which is controlled by Allam.
