Could have been worse, we could have won 18-6 or something similar and some serious crack papering would have gone on. Maybe the blessing in disguise is that a result like this well and truly exposes those cracks.

I said to my brother in law that, unless we come out in the second half and score 40 tonight is it for Agar.

| I have never heard a crowd reaction like the one at the end of tonight's game in 30+ years of supporting FC. If the Board and Mr Agar don't smell the roses now they never will.
Our coach has been in charge for how long? 3 years? We are seeing no improvement whatsoever in tactics or interchanges. Tonight his subs where an absolute joke, and in my opinion stopped the flow of our game.
I have really hoped that he would do well, but enough is enough, it's time to go!

| Harlequins RL away and Castleford Tigers at home up next for you guys, two of the in form teams this season, will be hard to win one of those. Bradford Bulls in a few games, two points guaranteed there

You know what, I'm normally a peaceful sort of chap but I could have swung for him tonight. Even my mate who operates on a fairly even keel shouted at him to shut the f*** up. It almost made me wish we had that blonde woman back (well, not really).

My cousin said the same. Ideally we would turn up at 7.59 and be subjected to neither of their cringe worthy pre-match attempts.

| Quote ="BP1"I've been away for a while, but it appears you've had a dramatic change of opinion. Only 6 months ago you said you were convinced Agar would lead us to silverware. I'm guessing your prediction of finishing 3rd this year has gone for a burton as well.
Without wishing to say "I told you so", there was a number of us on here who throughout last year remained steadfast in our opinion that the continued employment of Richard Agar as coach was leading this great club straight down a blind alley. We were shouted down last season by various Agar apologists (not just Mrs Berrigan who at least wears her heart on her sleeve) who endlessly pointed to "top 4 spot blah blah, improved league position blah blah" whilst remaining oblivious to the obvious that was staring them right in front of their faces.
I have posted on this board throughout Agar's tenure, always of the opinion that he was totally unsuited to the position of head coach at a club which should be aiming for the stars. I have always said that if my opinions were proved to be wrong and Richard Agar did indeed take us to the summit of the game then I would be prepared to take any brickbats that came my way. Reading this board tonight I feel my views are now vindicated along with various other posters who have long expressed doubts about our coach (Jake, Hullbg, Bones). I honestly and truly would have much preffered to have been proved wrong and to witness a Hull Fc side coached by Richard Agar doing a lap of honour around Wembley or Old Trafford, but I think we all know tonight it just simply isn't going to happen. Surely there can be no-one left willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not even Staffs FC.'"
Well said. Mrs B called me mad or insane a year ago because I was saying we were going backwards under Agar and had peaked whilst teams around us would improve. We needed then , and before , and certainly now a root and branch change in our coaching structure. We need people in charge who have the respect of the wider international game not a Dewsbury illiterati. The amateur pre match version of what the "Bulls" brought to SL 10 years or so ago makes me cringe and is divisive amongst the FC supporters at best. It demonstrates the same utter lack of understanding about what we want as fans and reflects the same disregard in what we need in a management structure and what we need on the field. Believe me the "almost 4th" was as good as it was ever going to get under Agar. Last year I stopped at Agar , now I have to include the board unless they act to remove him and his coaching team in order to restore at least some hope.

Yup. Entire fresh start needed.
Sadly they'll probably give Webster the job based on him potentially stepping in to cover for Agar when he gets sacked and winning a game.

We should have done this when Sharpe got the bullet. What a wasted opportunity that was. The sad thing is that plenty of us could see that giving Agar the job and leaving everything else untouched was the wrong option.
Not sure where we go from here TBH. The BOD have so much support invested in Agar that it's difficult to see them sacking him soon enough to save this season. And I have zero faith that they'll make the correct choice of successor.
I'm at my lowest ebb since the Lloyd era. Truly depressing.

| Next coaching appointment is absolutely crucial.
Aim high and we could be looking at a Warrington style renaissance, go for a cheap/uninspiring option and we risk falling futher behind the top clubs with plummeting attendances and consequently a downturn in the strides we have made off the pitch.
I agree that a complete restructure of the coaching staff is required.

Those were my sentiments even before Agar was appointed. My gut feeling in May 2008 was we had missed a chance to appoint a proven winner. I was unconvinced by Agar's credentials from day one and I think this has been what has informed my antipathy to the situation from day one. Even last year with the marginal improvements which appeared to take place, I couldn't shake off the feeling we had taken an almighty wrong turn somewhere down the line.
This really is a depressing day for us all.

The board won't though. they won't spend the money. We will get a head coach but not a clean sweep. Even then we will get a coach on the cheap.

| I think Agar should do the decent thing and resign. Like others have said, the board have publicly placed too much faith in him to sack him. A new coach would re-energise things.
The players need to take their share of the blame for last night as I think they were guilty of thinking that the win would just come, that Wakefield would eventually just give up. That said however, some of our play just beggars belief.
Lyne takes the ball up on the first tackle, then Sharp the second. On the third tackle we go wide to Sharp's wing when he's making his way back from the middle.
Why is Radders sometimes the second receiver? He's not James Graham and as for him having to put in attacking kicks
When we come left, all the players seem to gravitate towards the corner flag. The ball comes left and we end up with 3 players with 5 yards to work in. No dummy runners going through the line.
On two or three occasions we had a overlap on the left hand side but the cut out pass to the winger forced Lyne either to stop or to have to jump to catch it and the cover had slid across. I'm sorry to mention his name but that's the pass that we haven't been able to make since Cookie left.
Houghton breaks the line on a scoot and there isn't anyone within 15 yards of him; at one play the ball he was forced to scoot because there was no-one to pass to, we just weren't ready.
Lauaki is taken off 2 mins before half time. Washy seems to be part of our prop rotation.
It's the first time in a very long time I really wanted to leave a game before the end. Actually saying that, I wanted to leave before the start. The idiot on the mike is ruining a poor night out. Old Faithful is a song for me that is sung spontaneously by the crowd, either to lift the team or when things are going well(!). By making it a sing-a-long at the start demeans it to me.
I cannot see where our next win is going to come from, although I think we might get a point at the derby. The state both clubs are in it will be 0-0
I don't know if getting that off my chest helps or not......

It sums up many peoples thoughts tbh, I can't see Agar resigning but I guess if the pressure got too much he might. It depends on how the players perform in the next few weeks.
