So some of them do, then. Once you start to say the winning bonus pot of £1.6m is, say, 15% of the total that's £240k to be budgeted. If it's all contingent on reaching the play-offs that's an immediate underspend. Add in Crocker and the fact you should always leave a bit spare in case of injury crises and the need for loan signings, it starts to appear more understandable.
