Wasn't meaning as first choice..just as cover, as you know the older the player becomes he loses speed & end up in other positions, I can see Ellis getting played at prop if we are low in the front row also.

| With Carvell, Paea, Feka, Watts, Bowden, Green and Thompson all fit. Ellis won't be needed at prop at all and I'm pretty certain of that unless we get freakishly unlucky in the prop department.
Same goes for Yeaman in the back row. It won't happen.

A lot of back rowers get pushed to prop at twilight of there careers...& Yeamo will push for a back row slot if he loses the centre birth..but you know best coach.

Ffs why does everyone get called a coach just because they have an opinion?
I'm aware players push up to the back row>front row as their careers progress. Doesn't mean Yeaman will, he's too small for a forward and hasn't got the work rate imo.
But whatever you hear off your mate Radders makes you feel good. Then good for you.

| Not his choice, it's Radfords and the coaching staffs. Hopefully he'll do what is best for the team.

| Yeaman should be back up or nothing.
Let him test himself on the open market, he'll soon come crawling back.

It's not about him "crawling back" , he's done nothing wrong , he's given his all in a Hull shirt and been as good as he can be. If he plays for us and he's not good enough that's the coaches fault for picking him. The plain fact is the guy should be being replaced [ibefore[/i he's past his sell by date and that , depending on your view is about now , a few months past or coming pretty soon. The successful teams in most sports get rid of players and replace with better/fresher/younger models just before rather than just after that player hits the downward slide. It's like knowing when a player needs to be substituted , a good coach doesn't wait until they make mistakes because of fatigue he makes the change just before it happens. Our history is punctuated by teams getting old or breaking up and there being no ongoing plan in place to make the necessary changes either as a result of sentimentality or incompetence.

I was responding to the poster who said Kirk won't want that (Should have quoted).
If he's not, then he can test himself on the open market, he'd then come crawling back once nobody wanted him.

| Lots of utter rubbish been spoken on here!
Yeaman isn't very good at getting his winger away, but other than that proficient any every other area and outstanding in some!
Amazing how some people suddenly forget everything they know and can see with their own eyes yet let a few brainwash them. Anyone who thinks arundel and crooks have been worthy of a spot ahead of him are just being dumb
Come next year, even the end of this one (if crooks can find his best) yeaman may find himself back up!
I'll well agree with it too but he's not remotely as bad as being made out and an asset to any squad. Renowned as one of the best trainers, always scored tries, runs a good line when we have the players to provide the ball (lacking for a long time unfortunately) defensively the best centre by a distance! Carriers the ball strong. Ask around the league amongst opposition players they'll tell you kirk is one of the least liked opposition players they have to play against, pound for pound one of the strongest and toughest and hurts players!
His time is nearly done but it's embarrassing listening and reading some of the tripe regarding him. Nearly as embarrassing as all the Westerman knockers who it turned out knew nothing!!

| Normally I'd say Yeamo edges it over Crooks because he's always been a solid player, doesn't do anything too fancy but gets the job done and doesn't take a backwards step in defence. But then if there's no Crooks who kicks the goals? Whiting is OK sure but can't make the big kicks.
What happened to Westerman's goal kicking boots?

He chucked them in the bin beacuase they were hurting the rest of his game. A good decision judging by the way he's been tearing it up.
We saw a little flash of 2013 Crooks last Monday. Watching him ghost through the line reminded us of what we've been missing. I'd keep him in the side and then leave it up to Sa to displace Yeamo by how he shows up in training.

| Yeaman doesn't get his winger away, we've always known that. But this year especially he hasn't made metres out, hasn't scored that many for a couple of years now and is becoming error prone.

| Yeamo is solid defensively but has lost that attacking impetus that made him one of the deadliest centres in SL and an international. His inability to pass has been well known for years but I think it's more noticeable now that he's not regularly scoring tries. It is to me anyway. Crooks is devastating in attack but his defence can be poor.
I guess which one goes when Sa arrives is down to what Radders wants from his centres. If he wants to shore up our defence then Crooks will lose out. If he wants to add more to our attack then it needs to be Yeamo that loses out. Providing Sa is the better option to either player of course. It's up to Sa to dislodge one of them and its up to Crooks and Yeamo to show that they deserve to keep their place in the team.
Short term I would imagine we will see Sa and Yeamo as our starting centres but long term I would hope that it is Sa and Crooks. Crooks has time to improve his all round game and I believe he will do just that. I can't see Yeamo regaining that attacking edge.

| I'm sorry but creating space and time for your winger to pick up all the glory is what being a great attacking centre is all about. Yeaman can defend and runs hard but thats it. He's lost a yard of pace, can't pass and rarely runs the lines he used too when scoring 20+ try's a season. He'll do for now because we have nothing else but his replaced is imminent.
