Whiting isn't a centre and heremia isn't a half.
Crooks is a much better player than Colborn, even on the wing.
Guess we will to wait and see what LR does, have to trust him with the way we have started the season.

Whiting has played a damn sight more in the centres than Crooks on wing, can't see Crooks coming back in for a while tbh.

| As good as Whiting is he got done for pace 3 or 4 times by the opposition.
Would prefer to see someone quicker at centre.

Crooks played quite a few on the wing in his breakthrough season year before last didn't he?
Crooks at least has pace. Our first choice back line is pacey but with colbon whiting as a combo it's notat all.
Not sure i like all this players out of position though. Okay against Bradford. Maybe not so against better teams. Whiting kicking seems a lot like committing to starting him. But with tuson Ellis and Westy it's not in the forwards!!

Agreed. I don't fully agree with the extent of some of the Heremaia praise, TBH. I thought he was great for half an hour, but then faded with still a few flashes. I was actually expecting Rankin to replace him and not Horne. He had a good game, but not a MOM contender.

Heremaia only looks good at half because our other options are so poor. If we had a decent SH instead of rankin and miller we'd be in the mix for the top 5 the way the forwards are playin

I certainly don't think it is wise to play Heremia at halfback long term, I feel that Radford knew this was the right game to play him there and against the right team, not sure it would work against better teams.
The problem is Houghton and Heremia are too good to only play 40 minutes each. Could play either a LF for a bit, but then you have Joe Westerman and currently you want him on the pitch as long as possible.

Agree with this, too. Whiting did a decent job, but not one of his better games (not his fault for the positional change, though). I'd still sooner see him in the back row, personally, and give Arundel a go with Crooks outside him. Worth a try at least once.

I agree about Heremaia, disagree about Miller. I'm curious as to how it might have gone with Miller on the bench & replacing Heremaia, rather than Rankin for Horne.

I agree.
I think that's the best option, TBH. Westerman is doing too much work to play 80 minutes most weeks, and last night I think it was part of why he didn't finish the game as strongly. I'd sooner have 60-70 minutes all like he started the game.

| I'd like to know the reason for Lineham taking the kick offs? Seems a strange idea.
I watched him practising before the game and he kicked two out on the full. Sure enough, very first kick off of the game and he put it out on the full :p
Think it also leaves us vulnerable on the side where he would be defending. After the kick off at Bradford's last try, they quickly shipped it wide right over to that wing and made a little break as Lineham was still trying to catch up with the rest of the team to get back into the defensive line.

| If he was doing anything particularly different fair enough
foster was for them, Richards did for Wigan but our kick offs are not massively different or difficult so don't get why

He does. Unfortunately no amount of conditioning can prevent 3 broken legs/ankles in less than 3 years. Just bad luck.

I think I'm counting the knee reconstruction as a break, I couldn't remember what he did last season, just remember him being in pot. I think the year before it was a broken ankle and this year a broken leg. I think the wrist was just a bit of a clean out wasn't it?

| Got to say I was a bit concerned by our team selection with Whiting at centre and Heremeia in the halves but... well played Radders!
That first half was some of the best attacking rugby I've seen FC play in years. A real delight to watch. Got to say that our pack looks immense this year too. Paea and Feka are looking like terrific signings in the props. Ellis seems to have stepped it up a gear this year but so have a lot of other players too I think. Westerman looks like a completely different player!

Thought that on the night but not seen the replay yet. Did anyone else think he bullied Bentham into giving it? He seemed to leap up and yell at Bentham and then Bentham blew the whistle and gave the try.

| It wasn't even close. Said this a few pages back.
We were sat in the East stand right on line with the try line. He lost it about a foot from the floor. Didn't get anywhere near grounding it. Not a single person around us could understand how it was given, bias aside, it just wasn't a try.
I thought the last try was a bit dodgy too. Bentham gave it without a single thought. At that speed it would have been incredibly difficult for him to be 100% certain it was a try, in which case I'd have thought if there was any doubt (in games with no video ref) it should be disallowed.

| the video just looks like he slams it down and bounces it out to the side about a foot out from the line, no idea how that was given.

| TBF the Ellis pass to Tanaloa which resulted in Shaul scoring looks well forward on the video so I guess you win some you lose some. I'd like to see Tanaloa's disallowed try again. Looked ok to me on the night and I thought he really deserved it.
