People have seen the names like Lyon and Sonny Bill and I don't see them coming at all , Lynch is a good player and would need some much needed height and weight to our pack . Think we will sign a Aussie centre but maybe not a Massive name like Lyon but gentle knows the league well so still be a good player

Not sure anybody's said they don't want Lynch, just that there should be a sensible limit to how much we are willing to spend on him.

because we need either a centre or winger possibly both and gordan would be a good REALISTIC signing and as for flanagan hes a good young backrower a posistion we need to strenghen thats why i mentioned alot and it came as no suprise that a top team like saints got him.

I don't get all the Andy Last bashing. Despite the continual good performances from our u21's he continues to get heavily critisized. I admit we've failed dismally to bring through our promising youngsters recently, but fail to see why that's Lasty's fault!

He's been on the coaching team a long time and now is the right time for new ideas and a fresh start, IMO.

Is an ageing Lynch worth £40k and letting Dowes leave, yes, would I keep Dowes and say "no thanks" to Lynch at £80k, again, yes.

And comparing him to Menzies is just silly, Menzies isn't a prop who gets battered every other ptb.

But again, I don't think anyone has been 'knocking' him. I think almost everyone is pretty much agreed that he is a very good player. There's just a reservation as to how much longer that will remain true, and therefore how wise it would be to spend big money for the short term.

And I still think you latch on to the rare examples of older players as some sort of guarantee Lynch will be the same, when in reality it is still far more often the case that players retire at about 33-34.
