As with any rumour, could be just one person speculating.

why would we want widdop,just another reynolds or gale,well past his sell by date.

Widdop without playing anywhere near his best this season is far superior to either of Hodgson’s extremely poor signings.

I was just looking on the Warrington forum and genuinely can't believe a lot of their fans wouldn't want them to sign him, given the state of their team this year.

Personally think it’s a good move by the club.
BH is evolving the team and tbh I don’t think Connor is a player you can build a team round. ( attitude fitness pace ).

The state of their team this year is immaterial. They seem to be having virtually a complete overhaul of the squad for 2023.

They would probably want a more complete player than JC. There is no denying his brilliance in attack and all the stats quoted dwell solely on that when he is being able bigged up. His defence does let him down and he is a tad slow for an international fullback.

If we are signing all the players that are rumoured then it will be difficult to fit them all in.

Even with our inevitable injuries.

Therefore, selling him could alleviate that headache and give us some money to play with?

be a disgrace if we let connor go,we need to build the club around him,one of the very few uk super league who has skill and vision and some want to let him go.soon as he got injured we were gone.and for anyone to think swapping connor for a 33 year old has been is laughable.

Connor has undoubted skill.
However Can you imagine saints or wigan signing him.
Their template is professional hard work ,gelled with intelligent players. If we are to consistently rival the top two then we need to match with our own.
How many bans in total did Reynolds Connor Gale accrue this season?
They are our leadership group that our young kids are suppose to follow.
No wonder we are on the end of these hammerings when young players on considerably less money see the leadership group churning out casual efforts.

Connor has been banned once hasn't he, first game, very harsh too.

If all our players put the effort in as much as Connor and had half the rugby brains, we wouldn't be in this situation.

Is Connor unprofessional, I've heard the complete opposite, ok he mouths off a bit, but no more than some other players do?

Not sure of your point there. That was a home league game.
Wigan just won the CC and are well clear of fc in the league.
We are lagging well behind saints & wigan.
Having Connor in the team hasn’t closed the gap , in fact the gap has widened.
We have to change things and thankfully that is now starting to happen.

Without Connor we would be no where near the playoffs and probably where Wakefield are.

Connor is the least of our problems and we would be much worst off without him.

Connor is comfortably our best and most important player, he's someone we should be moving heaven and earth to keep at this club. Without Connor in the team where do our tries come from? He might be a bit petulant but only because he has such a desire to win, a few others could learn from him.

Can’t disagree with this, he’s our main man, and in this present team he plays at full back, no arguments, but if we sign a full back who can really bring the ball back with skill bravery and yardage, then Jake goes in the halves or loose man creating havoc without the perpetual spotlight on his defence or pace, actually the pace thing in these positions for Jake becomes less important.

I remember speaking to Phil Lowe about Knocker and how quick he was, he told me over twenty yards Knocker would beat him, but over the longer distance Lowe would easily be the winner, but as we have seen regularly, Jake over shorter yardage causes mayhem, I hope he stays and Jack Walker offers this opportunity for Jake to further his credentials and furthermore becomes the international player Wane is asking from him.

Absolutely, if we can get some pace at full back then we should, I laughed at first when someone suggested Jake playing 13 but it kind of makes sense, he won't be as tied down to any structure at 13 he could just float about and pop up where he wants to the only thing would be him defending in the middle would be a no no, he can defend very well but teams would just pick him out every set and tire him out, reducing his impact.

Biggest issue with Connor is that we haven't given him any support on the pitch, no wonder he gets frustrated. Hopefully that will be rectified next season.

Does he has faults, yes, which player doesn't but his positives far outweigh the negatives.

Stick him in a Saints or Wigan side and everyone would be saying he's world class.

This all day long. Jake Connor even with his sometimes questionable temperament is a player any team would want in their ranks as he can be totally unplayable as he has shown.

The issue is not Jake Connor the issue as Dave K has alluded to is the club haven't really given him anyone to support him in terms of sharing the load of creating opportunities other than the Sneyd kicks. Connor is the type of player you build a team around not expect him to do everything which by and large is where I believe a lot of his frustration comes from.

If we manage to get a FB with real pace that has the ability to link up and support play then Connor would be a devastating threat if given a free roaming role.

I've just read, we have the option to make walkers loan deal permanent.
If it works out and does well...will we put Conner in the halves with trueman and walker at FB?

Connor has only been banned once and that was after the Wakey game when the slightest touch was being punished. Had that been now, he wouldn't have been banned so you've been a bit unfair there.
Also, his gobby persona is just that, a persona. Off the pitch he's one of the quietest lads and simply gets on with the job. I'll give you Gale and Reynolds, but you can't lump Jake in with their attitude issues.
