Forwards have got to be a priority, our pack is beaten most weeks! Defensively ok but don't batter teams about! Pitts, Green, Bowden and Johnson, whilst ok are not big enough for me! O'Meley is solid but rarely makes huge yards! Tickle is a strong runner, too many errors and penalties! Lynch makes yards, age is catching up! Watts needs backing up every time he runs the ball we don't utilise his offloading capabilities! Ellis runs hard and tackles hard, doesn't get the service to utilise his skills!

I'd stick with the Backs, no backs can perform with a beaten pack!

At least 2 props and 2 second rowers would be ideal! Never replaced Moa or Manu for what they brought to the team, Ellis does exactly the same as Tickle in terms of running!

I'd be tempted to look at the stable that has produced Bellamy, McGuire, Kearney. And maybe look at David Kidwell although Easthullfcfan did point out that he left Wire early because he didn't settle. The problem were getting now is the 2nd tear coaches, your Jason Taylors and the like, don't need to come here to earn money. They have that many coaching and media opportunities in Aus now.

Shaul didn't have more than a year left IIRC. And the thing is, the main reason that Lineham and Crooks will have got new bumper deals is because they will have previously been on 'youngster' money, but had been elevated to first team players. So they were given new contracts to reflect that.

100% correct and all down to poor coaching. I've felt for some time that gentle wasn't up to it and tonight has confirmed it for me. Don't know who we should get but we should probably have gone with noble rather than gentle. may not be the world's best coach but a whole lot better than gentle and would have taken us forwards, not backwards.

Always had my concerns about appointing an inexperienced coach and we really now need someone with head coach experience

Don't get the Brian Smith fixation at all tbh.

For me the players confidence is shot. They're scared to try anything different for fear of failing, and even the basics are now proving difficult because of that. Gentle has maybe failed to sort that out but I'm not sure what he can do when players are flinging passes all over, not backing up when we do manage a break, drop straightforward passes etc etc. Trundle the ball in, pass it to someone who then drops it. Some of the plays look as though they're being made by strangers. Forwards running the ball and almost helping the tacklers stop them. Needs sorting but the players have to take some responsibility too

I'll say it again but we don't have an X factor player like, god forbid, Chase. Every kick off is the SAME. We rarely if ever do anything unexpected. Same old same old.

I don't like criticising the players, but some need to take a long hard look at themselves.

the bit with the confidence could be down to the fans when as soon as they do anything wrong it seems they call for their coaches head or something and start whining as per usual.

It's weird how some supposed fans actually love to hate some players who play for their team.

Probably the money that they pay added with the passion they have for their team makes them frustrated with the player they feel is letting all of that down so much they feel he need to slag them off

Just how many abject performances have we chucked out this season , Same mistakes week in week out , Same moves , Same result . Same excuses in the local rag .
