But better options may be come available after next season or even during the campaign'"
TBH they way things are looking and the slim pickings this year alone with Wigan having a down grade from Finch & Leuluai to Smith & Green, Huddersfield struggling to find a replacement for Brown in the halfs etc it maybe a long while to find a class half that is a willing to come or stay here in the UK.
As long as what we start with next season is an improvement of this one just gone then I'm happy as we are moving forward and improving.
The days of signing the Stirlings, Kennys and latterly Barretts etc of the RL world are quite honestly well gone due to the huge difference in money between SL & NRL and can't see that changing anytime soon.

Hopefully if we can get a squad that significantly improves us next season, we may become a more attractive club for better players to consider a move to us in future.

Only 1 number 7 to pick in your dream team for next season. Been there, seen it, bought the t-shirt.

| Seeing as the thread has descended into the random chat/abuse thread, I feel I might as well contribute. You're all @rseholes!
Only kidding, just some of you are....
Anyway, what role do people see Rich Horne playing next year? If any?
With a new full back seemingly on the horizon, a 6 already signed and another 7 in the pipeline, where exactly does that leave horney? Holdsworth is obviously a better 6, Rich has always IMO struggled at 7 and it seems PG doesn't see his future at FB.
Will he be moved to compete with the outside backs for a centre spot? Will he just be there to provide cover at 6,7,9 & 1? Or is it more likely that he'll move clubs or even retire and move onto coaching?
Just like to know what people's thoughts are? I just can't see him getting much game time when everyone is fit if said targets are acquired. Obviously injuries will take hold and he'll play but will he see himself as a fringe player? Particularly on the substantial wedge he must be on!
The beginning was just banter btw so please don't anyone take offense.

id expect it to be similar role to the Paul Deacon one at Wigan, coach/back up player.

| Wasn't Scott Prince called up to the Australian train on squad earlier this month? And didn't he captain the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII side against PNG last month?
Still, I'm sure some posters here know better than the Aussies selectors.
He'd not be a long term signing but would be one of the best scrum halves in Super League.

Enough with the common sense.
What I want to know is why McRae and Gentle are planning a 24 hour flight together when they're not speaking and Gentle threatened to leave unless McRae was removed. I'm sure I read that on here.
Anyway, half back rumours. PM from someone #intheknow please. Preferably with a smokescreen story.

| I can't believe the club are trying to sign players of the quality of Scott Prince. Why didn't we go for someone of the quality of someone like Matty Smith, Craig Gower or Luke Gale. Looks like we will be stuck with a first grade NRL half, or one of the better upcoming NRL halfs.
AP must be the worst owner in Super League, selling us short like he has.
As soon as I've made all my Direct Debit payments, I'll be burning my season pass.

| There's no doubt that Prince is class but equally no doubt that he's past his best. If all went well we could get two good seasons out of him. If things went badly he could be our Matt Orford.
Miller looks a good prospect but is he ready to be first choice 7 in an SL team that wants to be challenging for honours?
I'm not sure either of them are the answer but either of them would be better than what we have now.

Not at marketing, he's their poster boy. His rugby skills have little to do with his ability to sell things nowadays.
I don't believe signing 30+ Aussies was in Pearson's mandate anyway. We all know who the top halfbacks are, according to Pearson. Never heard Prince's name mentioned back then, strange that.
Anyway, it's a smokescreen. His mega deal with the GC and its sponsors the lucrative deal he has with Adidas Australia, his lifestyle and young family. Why would he give it up to come to Hull? Remember - we don't have Agar pitching the club anymore.
