It’s the off season isn’t it, no real news and can’t really be bothered to make a drama up out of nothing. Always find you get a better debate if you have people with a different view point to your own as long as you try and refrain from dragging it down into an interclub cockfest.
Unfortunately we all have the odd one or two who just can’t help themselves.



On the Shaul point, I think your right, would think it was a bit of career suicide to point blank refuse and would Radford stand for that, part of his mantra is pulling together for the team etc, but didn’t York question his attitude regarding refusing to be on the bench or something of that ilk.

I think I'm right in saying Rich has stated virtually every season that he wants to nail down a spot in one position, i think this with Jamie is being taken out of all context just remember Jamie's last season partially involved being miss used or not even used at York. Perceived as not good enough to make the York side on the wing on a regular basis wont have filled him with confidence for playing that position give the kid a break I'm sure Jamie will stick his hand up to do whatever the coaching staff thinks is best.

Again it's just one or two dobbins, allowing their obsession with FC to grasp any little bit of conflict and use it to try and score points.

That's how I see it...

The likelihood IMO is McDonnell gets the FB role and unless injured or suspended stays there. This is no disrespect to Shaul, but McD received a lot of good comments from FC supporters last year (pre-injury)and has more experience.

If that plays out and Radford says he needs Shaul to play on the wing, he will almost definitely say yes and try and do his best to prove himself worthy of his preferred spot, or at least be fit enough should McD not be available. That said McD does also have wing experience in the NRL, so should Shaul have a better off-season the opposite could maybe be true.

if shaul has said that he only wants to play FB what happens when he cant get in the side due to the form of mcdonnel which was very good up until his injury and Radford asks him to go on loan to Doncaster how will he like that after his dummy spit at York

Radford has already stated that there will be no repeat of last year, big mistake by any player to get on the wrong side of Radford and P*ss him off.

A young kid has started he wans to make a name for himself at fullback and isn't comfortable on the wing. I don't see where the problem is.

As for the halves, I will be amazed if we start with anything other than Miller, Rankin/Horne.

The initial comment that's drawn all the arguament was that he'd "refused to play on the wing".

Listening to the replay of sports talk it was nothing like that.

Any player is entitled to tell his coach what his preferred position is.

No player has the right to tell his coach where he will or will not play.
