| Quote ="Sebasteeno"Typical FC fan snobbery thinking the club is bigger than it actually is. Attendances are falling rapidly just like performances yet most of the people on here are saying that 14K isn't big enough.'"
It isn't, as actual facts prove.
Quote ="Sebasteeno"
You know years ago when there was talk of this cancer at the club well I would say it goes as far as the spectators as well. Far too many fans think just because were well supported that were entitled to win the league just like the players do. '"
That was nearly fifteen years ago. All the board, the coach, most of the backroom staff and all but two of the players have gone and yet people like you still go on about it.
Quote ="Sebasteeno"
The club AND the fans need a serious rethink about they go about their business. The general air of cockiness and feeling that were better than everyone else is a cancer in itself that holds the club back more than I think people imagine.
We could actually learn a hell of a lot from our red n white neighbours about aspirations and being a club for the fans and the community'"
Who has said that?

| I know a few people (from the Council side) who would certainly know if this was an option, and they've never mentioned it ever being a possibility.
I've always thought it would be a good option. Somewhere to call your own, and the opportunity to control some of the income streams.

| HCC cannot fund a new stadium - there is no money in the pot for anything like this. In reality, IF we were ever to leave the KC, it would be on the back of any payoff from our remaining lease - perhaps enough for a ground, but this would need us to be gifted land to develop and getting planning for a stadium is not without its pitfalls.
In reality, the KC is our home and there is nothing imminent to change that. Mind you, if our crowds keep dropping off, we soon wont be paying any rental to the SMC!!!

| As I said in another thread I don't believe this will happen however, let's say say it was couldn't allam realistically offer council to build a community stadium with us being priority tenants in exchange for the kc? Surely it would be cheaper to build a 14000 seater stadium then a 35000 stadium and it won't upset city fans staying put. Just food for thought

Interesting one, though extending the KC to 35K would cost more than a 14K stadium !

The issues would remain though.
The Allams want to turn West Park into a Retail complex when there is already significant excess capacity across the city and multiple covenants on the land. The bad blood between the council and the Allams shows no sign of being resolved. And it would cost much more to build a 14k stadium than the Allams would pay as a deal sweetener.

Langtree park only cost £25m. I reckon the doc would pay that. Council wouldn't have to fork out a penny and you could include a training site next door incorporating the athletics.

I see what your saying but here's another thought...... Wouldn't we receive some compensation on our lease contract? To be honest I don't know any sort of figures what we pay but do know we would have to be payed off, would we be talking a serious amount?

Oh come on its a general feeling that has been around the club for years. Everyone from the coach to the players to the fans expects us to just turn up at most games against the lesser fancied teams and we'll just walk it. That's one of the reasons why were so ! Look at the team now. Throws the all around a bit but put no ground work in at all. They just expect other teams to part like the red sea.
The club is a joke and imo getting back to being a community could be achieved in our own smaller ground. The KC is possibly now a massive hinderence to any progress. Players probably think they've reached the big time just because they play in it (or that's how it seems) even if its now less than half empty for the majority of games these days
MASSIVE MASIVE changes are needed at this club from top to bottom if its ever going to achieve anything in the near, medium or even long term future

I disagree with your interpretation.
Our fans have experienced some success in relative terms over the last decade - a Challenge Cup win, 4 major finals, making the play-offs in the years that didn't involve Agar. To get close to silverware of itself creates optimism that we're not miles off. Add in the fact we have been in better shape financially than several clubs in the competition, and have one of the largest fanbases, there is a justifiable basis for optimism in the medium term. I suggest you take a look back at some of the pre season threads about expectations however as you seem to be claiming an element of arrogance in our fanbase which isn't ubiquitous. How many posters on here, for example, as a % of the total, predicted a top 2, or even top 4 finish? You suggest it's a majority. I disagree.
You're saying Rovers are a real community club, and we are not. How do you define that? Bringing local lads through the academy into first team? There's evidence FC do a better job of this currently. Hours in local schools? I think we do this quite well, but if you've evidence Rovers do more of this, I'm happy to be proven wrong. The Hull FC Community Foundation seems at least as good as the Rovers one in terms of learning/training projects, supporting health/education work, and reportedly reaches 50,000 people a year. You can compare the community sections on each website if you are interested in learning more.
I don't disagree that a smaller ground would create a better atmosphere on matchday, but that doesn't generate a "community". In reality a ground is used 13 times a year; the loss of the Alliance competition means the opportunity to engage with the club on a frequent basis is less than it's ever been. Fans' connections to the club are driven as much now through social media as they used to be through regular attendance for reserve games, and that's a challenge for every club in my opinion.

Don't think any of them players came through Sirius and most of them did not come through the normal pathway.
Apart from a few exceptions I do not think we will produce much talent via Sirius route. Eggs mainly in one basket approach does not work

| I think a 16k ground would be great for Hull. It would definitely intensify the atmosphere when you are down at your average gate of around 10k but also allow for the big gates. I think playing at the KC has run it's course, and has lost Hull FC it's identity as a club. It would go a long way to re-establishing that, I think, anyway.
