That's ridiculous if true. Our other 2 centres were spectacularly awful last week. Even if you look at the season as a whole and not just that game, his tackling and error rates are better than both (Crooks and Yeaman are actually our top 2 for errors). Smacks of favouritism.

And if Rankin was originally dropped too expect Horne at off-half again leaving Yeaman and Crooks at centre. Why say anything at all, Radford, if you're going to perform a spectacular volte-face 4 days later?

And is exactly the issue that most worried me when Radford got the job, although thus far I have had no issues with his apparent willingness to sub/drop those not up to scratch.

This week is the real litmus test, imo. And perhaps we're jumping the gun a little.

My main concern with his sub/drop approach has been that, Yeamo aside, they've all been younger players so far. Maybe you're right about us jumping the gun a little but I just have this nagging doubt at the moment that I can't shake that this will be the norm. I hope I'm wrong.

I thought Arundel was pretty awful last week although still a bit better than Yeaman.

No problem with him dropping players for poor performance provided he drops the right ones. Up to tonight I'm happy he's done that. As he said in the paper he'd sooner not drop anyone. The players have a responsibility to play to the levels required.

The problem is, we all want him to drop non-performing players. And if different players are not performing at different times, this is what happens.

Arundel was no worse than Yeaman yet it looks like one again hes going to be the one left out

It appears that Yeaman & Horne are bullet proof.

A centre who is unable to pass to his winger, and a halfback who's passing speed is slower than a turtle.

Seen Horne set a few lovely tries up already this year. Last year was coasting the try assists at this time and has been solidly consistent this year so far without being outstanding. Personally I want to see rankin and Miller have a run but rankin albeit in brief run outs hasn't forced himself to be picked at 6.
As rubbish as yeaman was last week he was good vs cas. Although he should be out and certainly not in at arundel expense.

Mind you, with the pack we've got out tonight we're on a hiding to nothing regardless of who plays in the backs.

I don't care how hard Yeaman has trained, the decision to include him makes a mockery of Radford's comments earlier in the week.

"If you don't play well, you'll be dropped. Unless you're one of my mates, then you can be as rubbish as you like with minimal consequences."

I think awful a bit far, TBH. He was possibly the pick of the back line for me, although I realise that's not saying much. In cold comparison to the other 2 centres, he made more tackles than both without a miss, made more metres (both in total and per carry), and made less errors than Yeaman and only 1 more than Crooks despite playing 4 times as long and with 3 times as many carries.

He was comfortably better than both the other centres IMO.

Looking worryingly like that. More by default than playing great himself, but Arundel should have been one of the last in line for being dropped by virtue of his two rivals for a spot being monumentally pants.
