Very good points regards the hurt egos and I think some of the players told to look elsewhere have the bigger egos in the club.

That said I wish we as a club were not so public in announcing who would not be staying and for what reasons. Every club is going through the same process and I just feel it is unhelpful when a player sees McRae publicly state he is a goner for this reason or that.

Peter Gentle inherited a poor team with too many ego's.

Unlike football you can't just do a massive clear out and bring the players you want in straight away it takes time, he will get it right because he's a good coach, blame the players not him.

It worked so well against L**ds & Ellis and Nicholas aren't good enough for SL.

So for the last 2 years when your players have under performed it was the coaches fault, now they're doing the same for a new coach it is the players fault.
I seem to remember having suggested on here several times that maybe it wasn't ALL Agar's fault and that your players had to take some responsibility but getting shot down.

They're agar's players by and large though, indoctrinated with 4 years of agar. agar is a shiit coach BTW

Of course the coach and the players all need to accept responsibilities, but had Agar still been our coach we'd be 9th/10th and not 6th. We'd not have beaten Leeds and probably not Rovers on Good Friday.

Look, if you still think Agar is the coach to make you a top side then good luck to you. In 2009 we won our first five games but then won only five out of the remaining twenty-two games all year.

This is in danger of becoming another RL fans myth. He didn't say there were any in house issues. He was asked if he could put his finger on what went wrong and he said their were a couple of issues but he would keep them on house. He stressed it was nothing sinister but he would prefer to keep it in house. Now to me that sounds like a few players need an attitude adjustment and Gentle didn't want to single them out.

Exactly how I heard it. It was a coach saying that he knows what is wrong but he's not about to single out individuals or discuss the technicalities of it publicly which is the position he should take as the coach.

We're having a bit of a bad patch at the moment, this happens to most teams at one time or another during a season and the judgement on the players & coach is not during said bad patch but how it gets reacted to and the speed with which it is done.
Let's face it we're not a top side this year so a run of a few poor games is nothing we should be too surprised about, but if we don't at least see a positive reaction soon then it will be more worrying.

2 wins, a draw and 5 losses in the last 8. The next 4 games don't look too appealing either. Could easily be 2 wins in 12 games

Fair point, but as you also have said with a couple of results over the past few weeks going our way (which may well be due to a large part in fatigue of the pack with too many minutes being played) we could be 3rd.
This is in no way gives an excuse for the form we are (or rather aren't) showing but does illustrate the small margins between success and failure.
All I am saying is that there seems to be some panic from some when in reality it must be hoped (since I'm not "in the know" as some on here claim to be) that moves have been put in place to address some of the failings but will just take a little time to show through; and in a crazy parallel universe we could even be complaining about our form whilst sitting in a podium position.

It wouldn't prevent the rumours circulating, all that would happen is people would moan that the club aren't keeping them informed.

All McRae did was confirm what most already knew, apart from the few loons who still clung to the 'Manu staying' cobblers. As Bomber said: "a professional player would still give the best of his abilities for whoever was paying him". Whether their future status is public knowledge or not shouldn't even enter the equation

My take on it is this. I wasn't at the game yesterday, however I have spoken to people who went and by the whole reaction on here its easy to say we simply threw another win away to a poor side. To look at us as the team who beat Leeds, then look at us now, ony half of our game is clicking together, in defence and attack. The last few games has shown we aren't a team who can finish teams off, or not yet at least, but also that Gebtle is also not the finished article as a coach. He is developing as a coach, and sometimes you need to fall down to know how to stay up and I am fully confident in him and the direction he is taking us.

Does this mean Jordan Turner is not a professional player?
