Him and the local MP should have been involved as soon as the first application was refused IMO.

The one thing the UKBA don't like is extra work and if a decision involves them having to do ministerial briefings and replies to official letters, they would probably just decide that at the end of it all, the visa can be issued.

I think he would have been a last resort as I don't really know what power he has to help or how interested he would be.

I was never a memeber of any club or crew, I have just have my opinion, sometimes its pro FC and sometimes is not.

You just can't go around telling people they are always sticking up for the club when you and others often do nothing but slag the club off for what they do/don't do.

Well then maybe he would be able to help out and maybe Hull should have thought about speaking to him sooner, even if it was for some general guidance? Hull/Crocker and his agent seem to have tried to cover all basis and put in as much as evidence as they can second time around and I can't see how speaking to this guy would not have helped in some way.

Pretty much spot on Kosh. But there are posters on here that will blame the club for every thing.It would be refreshing for these to actually compliment the club once in a while as the club are very pro-actiev in many things it does.

I think we are in a bit of a 50/50 sit rep at the moment and any help we can get would be 100% recieved, but official involvement could be a negative thing as well remember.....!!
It seems to me there is a lot more to this at present as it has now dragged on and on and there has to be either an awful lot of documentation involved or a situation where the dept involved are looking for someone to make a descision ..
but we shall never know till the story breaks until then we are all guessing but given how quickly all the other poor buggers were told the big NO to their quest to play in SL this one is intriguing the longer it drags on.

You said THE relevant minister, not A relevant minister. My reply is correct given your starting premise. Not being THE relevant minister is not the same as being completely irrelevant, either. Clearly the minister for sport has an interest in what's happening, but what he doesn't have is any direct power over the decision.

I do, however, take into account what Chris28 says about the UKBA wanting to avoid work, so maybe he might be of slightly more use than the average chocolate-teapot level that would usually apply.

I also find the comment about 'just defending the club' laughable. You've clearly been engaging in the same sort of selective reading that you decry in others if you think that I'm blindly supportive of everything the club does.

1. The RFL are good at hand-wringing but consistently come up short on tackling the hard problems.

2. Unfortunately, RL as a sport is in no position to demand anything and get taken seriously.

Otherwise it's a good plan.

Just my opinion, sir. I don't expect you to care as you show no respect for others opinions. I would like to ask you one question - Given your negativity towards the team and your distrust of any non-playing member of our club, why do you support Hull F.C.?

That is just blatantly untrue.

I support FC because I have been going to watch them for nearly 30 years, I've met the majority of the non-playing staff, something which a fair few on here have not. I also know how big, successful sporting organisations and operations are run, and see obvious omissions in the way FC are operated.

I don't criticise the club for everything, I just get annoyed when they consistantly shoot themselves in the foot, and it's usually something so easy to avoid.
