You can use obfuscate correctly in a sentence but don't know what a corked thigh is?

We have to get back to Sunday games in my opinion, bin Thursdays, and have one televised game Friday night and one televised game at 18.00 on a Sunday when there is nothing worth watching on TV.
We need more spectators watching live in the stadiums and not at home.

There'll be nothing to watch if sponsors stop going because they'd rather extend their working week and attend a Friday night rather than leave their family on a Sunday.
We went back to Sundays and crowds went down.

I thank you! So if it’s a dead leg then call it that. All these colloquialisms do not afford clarity. Anyway the only dead leg I have nowadays is me middle stump.

Sponsors will not stop going to matches if everyone switched back to Sunday.
When you sponsor a team you pay a fee whether you go to the matches or not.
I would also argue that additional away support generated by playing on a Sunday would compensate for the loss of one or two sponsors.
Its something the new Super league should be seriously looking at as well as the TV rights renewal.

Karen is quite right in that our attendances went diwnnwhen we went back to Sunday’s and it had a significant impact on the revenue stream from sponsors too if I remember. Away fans also was a minimal increase compared to Friday nights.
Sponsors are no longer just fans wanting to put money in to a club they love they are now businesses that use sponsoring & hospitality as a serious marketing tool. As such many invite their own clients/customers who aren’t necessarily big fans of the club or sport so a Friday night is ideal for them to attend. It’s very difficult speaking from experience to get people to come to events on a Sunday due to them not wanting to take up family time with a work event.
So unfortunately if sponsors can’t get a benefit from sponsoring other than handing the club money then sponsors will disappear from the club and use their budget elsewhere.
So to say sponsors will still continue to go is not quite true as unless there is a financial benefit to doing it many won’t as it is done purely for business reasons

Which is possibly why all away games, except those scheduled for Thursday TV, are on Saturday or Sunday. Maximising ticket revenue for the hosts and us, as we get a wedge of the ticket sales sold through FC.

Of course people WERE writing our season off, we'd lost 13 on the bounce or had you conveniently forgotten that with your super power of hindsight?
I'm pleased we've won our last 2 and hope we've turned a corner for the good but let's not get too carried away yet, it's still early days but 2 from 4 is encouraging.
Whilst I'm pleased to see Ellis back as he is a quality player and leader it also disappoints me slightly at the same time that we've had to bring a 37 year old player out of retirement to give the team that spark that has been missing and that none of our other new signings are good enough to fill the gaps instead.

The childish like dig as you call it was in response to my percieved perception of your post.
You posted "only 2 weeks ago people where writing our season off,"
That was in my opinion a dig at the people who were not happy with our previous predicament.
You and a few others are only to happy to collectively round on people who voice displeasure at the club, even if some do make it a habit that's their prerogative.
I do apologise if I've misinterpreted your post however.
I do disagree with you because of course last years count. They cannot be dismissed. The significant losing run could become habit forming, it plays on staff and fans minds alike and is the basis for contract renewals and dismissals.
I was fearing the worst at half time Sunday as both teams were dire and our only try came from a Westerman error. Fortunately we turned it around at half time.
Acid test for me is now Friday and how we perform, win or lose and back up on our recent wins.

We played mostly Sundays at home in 2012 which was a reasonably good season especially at home as we only lost once. Attendances dropped from 2011 in nine out of the thirteen games though. The idea that fans will flock to the KCOM on a Sunday and that the number of away fans will rise is a fallacy. We played a couple of home games in 2015 on Sundays against Cas and Wakey and the attendances were 10,949 and 9,558.

I hardly think figures from 2012 or even 2015 are relevant to current times and its not a fallacy to say a regular Sunday Super League programme would not attract more away fans to grounds.
There is far more marketing now by the club to advertise and promote weekend games than in 2012 and 2015.
We are a well supported club when playing away but had the game against Huddersfield been on a Friday then possibly 500 would have traveled yet on Sunday over 2000 fans made the journey.
That revenue for Huddersfield is huge and also welcome to our club for those who purchased tickets from Hull FC.
Whilst Sky are in control it wont happen but get back to a regular Sunday Super League programme with one live match on a friday night and one live match at 18.00 on a Sunday and get the fans back into the grounds watching live instead of sitting at home in front of the TV watching SKY.

Yeh I agree about Friday , from what I've seen of Leeds in they opening away games , they've been a bit unlucky and played at a good intensity, poor against wakey, but will definitely be better Friday , plus Leeds always beat us , hoping for a good turn out and a big hull effort

You are in dream land.
Facts are facts, Sunday games do not boost attendances, especially in summer when families have far more options over how to spend their time than they did in the past.

You would have hoped so, give we are reckoned to have had over 20k fans at Wembley in both of those years, yet look at the 2018 average gate and it didn't increase materially.
