| Talking of Andy Last after re reading some of the press since the departure of Lee Radford, the ‘love in’ from certain local players and interviews with both Last & Purtill. It’s interesting that Last has said he is a different coach to LR and will go about things differently and also Purtill mentioning small changes that they have already made.
Not long before AP announced the signing of Purtill, LR was adamant he did not need any additions to the coaching staff. Add that to all the other stuff I’ve read about how LR was doing everything including things like decorating training ground etc I wonder if he just had to much control and spread himself too thinly? Instead of using Last fully as a coach and taking his and (latterly) Purtills input?
Maybe he relied on his relationship with certain players too much and in trying to cover everything himself left him falling short?
So far I have been impressed with what both AL & KP have said and hope they can turn round the performances of not just each individual player but the team as a whole.
I think as a caretaking role AL will do a good job but as for long term my worry is history repeating itself as Agar was another highly regarded in the game, but did nothing as a Head Coach for us other than taking us backwards.

| No chance of an Oz coach coming over here until at least back end of the year due to the current climate so for now it’s Andy Last and Purtill.Ive no issues with this for 2020 as too much going on,and finances will be at breaking point.Last has took over at the worst possible time so for me gets the gig for the rest of the year at least

who knows if there will be any SL this year, The Ashes are only 7 months away, even if the UK starts to return to normal (or whatever our new normal will look like) then I would imagine travel etc. will take a lot longer to get back on track, that is assuming anyone will insure anyone for travel, or anyone will want to do it.

| A sign of the times, didn’t see any April Fools Day stories. Got to be the first time in living memory, I remember there were always bogus stories in the press.

| Really think when the game gets going again it will definitely be behind closed doors to begin with ?
From a spectator point of view not many will want to sit crammed in, surrounded by relative strangers with unknown medical conditions UNTIL we know it is safe to do so. Social Distancing here for some time to come I'm afraid.

| I have a request in these times without games .
Wilf the Dentist could you search through your archives for a game from the past
.
9th May 1982
Hullfc 27 V Warrington 7
I was at the match and there must have been near to 17000 fans in the Boulevard on a beautiful sunny afternoon
Stan Wall was the ref so we knew it would be interesting.
I was in the Gordon Street stand but most of the tries came in the second half when we were attacking the scoreboard end.
Much appreciated if you are able to help

This was the Premiership semi-final and we went on to lose 8-23 to Widnes the following Saturday in the Final at Headingley. Just four days after that we got the ultimate revenge by winning the Challenge Cup Final replay at Elland Road.

Managed to fit in the Wembley game against Widnes on a business trip from Aus. but had to leave the UK a couple of days later and didn't make the CC replay. Looking at the attendances for the Premiership semi against Warrington and the final at Headingley, the crowd was lower by a few thousand for the final.
Any reason for the very low attendance?

Does seem very low, just 12,100 according to a few resources. I guess in those five/six days between the semi and the final supporters of both clubs were more focused on tickets and arrangements for the Challenge Cup final replay.

| I see Toronto players have taking a wage cut, hardly surprising under the current climate.
I see Toronto can now afford to sign Kallum Watkins as their salary cap commitment has been reduced.
I'm sure the other players will be really pleased.

The ones who will be pleased are the Gold Coast Titans

Great chip over and even better pass into the bread basket for his teammate to go over.
Never missing the conversion.
