To clarify, players with an EU passport count as Non-Fed rather than Quota. There's still a limit but different to players from non-EU countries.

They have 2 better halves (up to end 2009 season) than us. No question about that. And what is more their halfback combination has been the same for 24 out of 31 matches this year. For the other 7 matches one other player was used to cover Cooke's injury/naughty boy absence. We have used Thorman/Horne/Tansey/Washbrook/Berrigan with only one of those even half decent in the position in my view. That is the single main reason why they have been better for 2 years than us. They have had a better, more established, more talented half back combination. 2 players who have the technical expertise to carry out game plan instructions, together with the benefits of familiarity that comes with playing together and in Dobson's case never being injured. They also both have an A1 kicking game, short and long.

Our recruitment and retention policy has been to blame for allowing this situation to occur. We are now starting to get this right but much rests on Horne's form next season. If he is poor again we may well struggle.

Depends if they are classed as fed trained or exempt if they have played Sl since before 07, which most of them will have done
