When I got to the end of the field, I decided to give everyone a laugh by stripping off.The Russian football team were training on the pitch next to ours.They'd earlier proved themselves to be a miserable bunch of b***ards and when any of us tried to talk to them they just blanked us.
They were practising penalties and I sprinted into the goalmouth, jumped on to the crossbar and started doing chin-ups. They just stood there without a trace of a smile between them.

I said the lads who'd played in the Grand Final had not touched a ball in eight days and needed ball-in-hand practice.
At our base at Manly, the training was a joke. They had us doing shuttle runs, sit-ups, press-ups, even f***ing wrestling. It was all fitness stuff.
We felt tricked, conned by the coach. Despite having a week, we didn't properly discuss role-play and tactics until the morning before the game!
We stood and listened as the coaching team told us our strategy a few hours before we faced the Kiwis.
I said to the lads next to me: "We should have been talking match tactics four days ago."
[u It was like taking your driving test on the morning of your 17th birthday after watching a few hours of Top Gear. [/u

I think , reading about Longy and $$$, that he would have got Dick Agar's name tattoo'd on his neck if Hull had paid him an extra £10,000.
Long joined for the CASH not Dick Agar - as a club we have a lot of 'spin' remember. Now I don't care what he joined for as long as he brings success. |

He mentioned Agar in the context of his decision not to go with Wigan. That is, he didn't think Nobby would be around next season whereas Agar would be. That is different from saying that Agar played a big part in him choosing Hull. I'm sure money had something to do with that as well as the kind of role Agar wanted for him (an organising one, which is what Longy is good at and what he wants).
If you watched the match tonight then you will have seen Longy on form. He was very good tonight. I think he enjoyed his book signing session!
I'm going to miss Longy. He's been a tremendous player for us and life will just not be the same without him. |

Maybe I heard wrong but I didnt get the impression he signed simply for the cash or the guarantee of been first choice scrum half.
It a big move uprooting his family and moving across t'other side of the country so fair play to him and to Hull for selling it to him.
