Rovers have opened talks with a Championship second row and are due to open talks with a Championship winger. Both contracted players but their clubs have given permission for talks. I am told that both players are keen to come.
If the winger comes straight away i reckon that David Hodgson will be straight out of the door. Not a very popular character at the minute with Craig Sandercock or his team mates

Maybe they feel they can get better. I tend to agree. I've long believed that the overseas signings made by the old regime would not have got a contract here had Pearson/McRae and Gentle been in charge at the time.

Plus ellis, depends whether they get any takers on seymour, but ap and pg really not messing around, guess he's had a look at whats there and deemed some not good enough and dont offer value for money

I can understand this, if the current squad is at max salary cap then we are over paying quite a few players IMO.

Not bothered about ellis, getting 7 or 8 good players will be hard to get and names mentioned are not good enough

thats what concerns me - the linked names, Arundel and Crookes in particular do not equal the players they will be replacing in my opinion

Exactly Seymour , Ogre Manu etc are not world beaters but still very good players

i agree not too fussed on the 2 mentioned, but i see it going down the young english with potential and still think we will bring a couple of class ones in from overseas tbh

Crookes been on loan at sheffield,halifax,batley for a reason imo

If the club are getting rid of the players mentioned that would mean we have a large amount of salary cap to spend.

When mckinnon was signed , sir fitz said for the money they paid for him he could have got an orgin full back at the least, there is 5-6 players that bomber,ap,pg are on wages that dont reflect there standing, so tbh i think they will be plenty of movement in and out before next year, but at least ap backing pg to put his own stamp on the team

Arundel looked good in a poor cas team last year, just think he needs to bulk up

I'll settle for some disruption so long as we get a squad genuinely capable of challenging, this current one flatters to deceive IMO.

With Arundel he may have scored a bunch of tries in his 1st season but you have got to wonder how many of his tries simply came from Rangi Chase magic
