It's a great pack on paper and Fitzgibbon will be a superb asset to the club.

The concerns are over Agar's selection and interchanges and of course keeping injuries to a minimum.

Gets stronger that smell every day that they dont sign anyone too.

I think Agar's job will be alot more easier this year given he's offloaded average players and players with attitude problems. Agar isn't all to blame for this mess and I really wish people would see that instead of jumping the gun and blaming him.

Sure he may be out of depth but so far (forget last season and one before that) he has delivered on what we wanted. We wanted a scrum half, check box ticked, we needed major reineforcements to the pack , checkbox ticked and we needed tog et rid of average/unprofessional players ...another checkbox ticked.

Agar's not that clueless as most make out IMO he's just being given a bad hand, if we were playing poker he'd have had a 7 and 2.

And not matter what combination we put out there they looked de-motivated and set up with no tactical game plan at all. It was almost like they'd not even seen each other during the week at training never mind spoken to each other. Agar has proven his inability to do the job last year, im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how next year goes but Agar has been shocking.

No, it was the idiot in the dugout who had no game plan, or interchange ideas, or even professionalism.

Indeed. The side we put out every single game last year was good enough to win if they had been set out correctly by Agar and he had a clue.

I wouldnt say every single game, but a lot of them, mediocrity is celebrated by some people in Hull I am afraid.

Not good at all for training/games/tactics or organisation. In contrast our smaller neighbours played the same 6/7 combination in 24 out of 31 games (both of them recognised halves) and used one other player for the remainder. Many mistakes were made by the coach but the half back problems were a key issue mostly beyond his control.

that's not strictly true, Thorman and Horne were relatively injury free all year!

With you on this one. On the plus side we have more quality and aggression and providing we get a normal level of injuries, more competition for places. However, it will take time to gel and we have the same coach as the last 2 seasons where we finished 11/12 and 12/14. It's OTT to expect O'Meley and Fitz to create a huge improvement. I'm excited to see the new players, but have no real expectations for next season.

Fair point about Thorman and injury. His form was terrible and he ceased to become a viable proposition in any position let alone at half back. Horne was physically fit to go on the field but a shadow of his former self in all ways possibly due to his previous injury and illness. His form next season is still a big worry IMO as he needs to be a lot lot better.
