One thing I can't quite understand is, we haven't been a good attacking team since 2004 which is what 9 years ago when Shaun McRae was in charge. During that era we was arguably one of the top 3 attacking teams in the country. From that era we only have Yeaman and Horne left. Now we have a coach who came from arguably one of the best attacking teams in the world, West Tigers. We have brilliant offensive players such as McDonnell, Briscoe, Crooks, Lineham, Holdsworth, Ellis, Westerman, Heremaia and Houghton. Yet we haven't improved at all, our attack is still slow, crap PTB, can't spread the ball with any pace and as soon as Tickle is back in the team we end up applying the boring old drop off.
We're clearing panicking due to lack of ideas.

Currently have the 3rd worst in attack, only Salford and London have a worse attack than us. Shocking.

this size thing, i posted this earlier,but i like repeating myself lol, lynch watts westerman,ellis ,green,are all over 6 foot and big guys, throw in orge tickle and we have the size there, we are just not running our weight up front atm

His length of the field pursuit of Crooks deserved a round of applause from us all yet he got s in the south stand jeering when he got injured doing so. Great player with a great attitude.

Just wondering how much input Shaun McRae has as Director of Rugby??

Does Gentle tell him what positions need strengthening and then McRae fills the position or does PG say who he wants and SMc just does the business?

Does he have any input as to what happens on the field?

I fear the spectre of behind the scenes disharmony. Something seems to have slipped with the teams morale, and the backslapping of earlier in the season has disappeared. McRae vs Gentle. Don't know. Something is going wrong though, and Gentle needs to address it methinks.

Lol only Crooks and Lineham can be talked of as 'brilliant offensive' as form stands and its Crooks who has been carrying the team. I think your taking the p**s with the other players you have mentioned!

Tbf I shouldn't have used 'brilliant'. Good was more apt.

Have to say that Gentle was spot on with his comments after last night . The effort and commitment were there but it was the execution that was lacking. There were far too may miss timed runs which resulted in obstructions/lost balls. Miller does look like a good prospect if given time. There will always be individual errors in a game like Shannon's , Fox scored 2 tries but was at fault when he knocked on before Crook's second. Gentle is doing ok but needs a bit more help from your experienced players.

Nothing wrong in my eyes. He's a good coach and Pearson said he'd like to have a run in the cup and a crack at the playoffs this year. People are quick to get out their pitch folks and fire when were having a bad spell. Would so many have been crying if we had lost the last 3 to Wigan Leeds and Warrington? I doubt it very much. I also think its disgusting to boo your own team off the pitch. No player goes on to play badly or lose a game. I have no doubt they will turn this around and finish well. A lot of hard work is required and a bit of the luck we had in our good run but im sure it will come. Won't stop me going to the cup game in Catalan. Thats the problem with a lot of FC fans, its not the players that are arrogant, its the fans. Our fans think they are owed a top 4 finish. Get real and get behind the team instead of creating a culture where defeat is met with rapturous boos and slagging off of coach decisions and instead rake defeat on the chin withbthe fact we were not good enough and have faith they will put it right. I think the Exiles game came at the wrong time for us. We needed to get back on the horse straight after the Catalan game but had to wait nearly 2 weeks. Im sure this had a bearing on the players mentality and theyre still suffering slightly from that. Im sure a hard week and a decent performance against the Gianta awaits.

Your entitled to your opinion but I think there is something wrong..

It's not as if its a "one off" that we played badly, it's most games, we have played more bad than we have good this year.

I can take a loss like most people but its how we are losing that's annoying.

And with regards being owed a top 4 finish I think most fans expect to be in the top 6, you can't really blame the fans when AP and PG told us all how good a team we are and that AP himself expects results.

To be fair, the team never got jeered off after the Wigan defeat. It's the manner of getting beat that hurts the fans.
Hull fans are passionate and they can't have it all ways.
I'm sure AP will be equally unhappy with the performance. I hope he is anyway as he doesn't seem to be someone who settles for mediocrity.

Still I dont believe the players want to lose or advocate booing.

I think the fans vent a lot of anger because of being stuck in a rut with the previous regime. They are never goung to be won over until we win something. This sort of tunnel vision doesnt help. They are the ones who think they are owed something. We all pay our money / buy the shirts. And ill continue to regardless of form / table position / coach or management team.

What they are owed is a performance commensurate with the collective abilities of the players on show. If they don't receive that, it's up to them if they boo.

But happily clap and whoop and holla if theyd have scored at the end. Even tho they played attrociously. Fickleness at its best.

They can be pleased with the two points without being happy with the performance.

Exactly, after the Wigan defeat the fans gave both sets of players a standing ovation for a great hard fought game of rugby, we can accept defeat if the team have given their all and some 50/50 chances or referee calls didn't go our way. But to play so limply against a side 9th in the table at home is a different matter.

The pressure was on Gentle after Good Friday, and he and the team responded...the pressure is even greater now and the issues even harder to fix.
