A simple calculation was all that was required.
You seem to have lost track. Is this poor value for money because of the cost per km, or because it's not 'important', or because you believe it won't lead to future economic benefit?
What will Crossrail & A63 generate? It's virtually impossible to predict and you know that, that's why you asked. Of course, if you have the figures for the two, please share them. Not forgetting, you'd have to make that comparable to the relative sizes of the two projects, like I did with my simplistic calculations earlier.

Dont worry, any time.
Look, its a bug bear of mine that in London approx £5000 is spent per head on transport infrastructure, and up here its anywhere between £5 and £250 per head.
I can see the arguments why, and do marvel at the engineering going into such projects. But it still bugs me.
Is crossrail value for money, probably
Is A63 value for money, possibly
Is the electrification of Hull to the ECML and Leeds value for money, most definate
Is the 2014 Hull FC squad value for money. NO

I'd propose it has more to do with the people using this board than by far the vast majority of the sin bin.
The Castle Street junction was a pig's ear from the very start. Couple it with that bleeding swing bridge and it was clear there were always going to be problems. Quite why the swing bridge was there in the first place is beyond me. Surely it would've been cheaper to elevate the road to the same height as the flood barrier and avoid the need for an opening crossing altogether?
