I'm hoping DJ was just taken off as a precaution too. Had a really good game as did Heremaia when he came on. Good to see Yeamo have a top game too.
As for Ellis he was steady in attack but solid as ever in defence especially as it was his first game of the season. He's a massive presence in defence.

Good to see competition for places. Azza outstanding. Also thought Lynch was very good tonight, seemed a positive response to being benched. Crooks/Lineham continue to impress. Lineham reminded me of Crusher Cleal tonight on one carry - massive leg drive dragging 2-3 with him.

PG said in the post match interview on Humberside that the plan always was to play DJ for 50 minutes and then take him off. He didn't want to come off though so they let him run another 10.

Ellis also wasn't supposed to be playing the full 80 which might explain why he was blowing a bit.

I thought it was a decent performance seeing as the heart of the team had such a major change.

Injury updates/scares:
Ellis - fine. Planned to play first 25 and have a break, PG said "he's found out I tell lies!"
DJ - Purely precautionary. He believes himself that he's over his illness and, again, played more minutes then was planned.
Horney - Took a knock early in first half, got repercussions in the second so took him off. Should be fine.
Westy - Had a "nasty" compound dislocation of his thumb, but went back in fine and he said he's ok to play next week.

westy, horne and holdsworth should all be ok for next week according to smailes' twitter feed

as for the game, yet again crooks stand out player for me!

briscoe and yeaman finally getting some decent ball now ellis and holdsworth back in the side, yeamos' pass to briscoe was for me the best try of the match!

Have to give special mention to Pitts tonight. I'm a big fan of his and he's getting better every game. His quick PTB was the best we've had all season which led to a try, he supported Shannon's run when he wrongly kicked it, and tackles really aggressive in defence. Good stuff, Jay!

Good 2nd half. holdsworth and heremaia excellent but ben crooks oozes class. I think he will go on to be a great centre

Yeamans hand off made the try...the pass was a standard pass...the only thing special was the fact he passed it.

The wigan game made him and he has followed it up tonight...we have arguably the best right hand side (potentially) in the league.

Any centre would have made the pass....Yeamans defence was outstanding tonight.

Another highlight for me was 'wonder boy' Dixon being belted into touch by Lineham. Showed him who's boss.

The biggest positive for me was seeing good tries scored down both our left and right hand sides. Crooks and Lineham are potentially one of the most exciting centre/wing partnerships we've ever had.

Massively agree with this. Thought he was good last week. Consistently runs hard n fast n gets quick p t b beautiful hands at times and really hits hard in defence.
Keep hearing he's not big enough but he's effective in attack and defence every week.

Just got back. Enjoyed the last three quarters of the game we were obviously slow out of the blocks. Some good performances in there still room for improvement. Bit of extra class there with DJ and whilst not touching the ball much Ellis still created more space than Yeaman and Briscoe have seen all season by attracting defenders. Definitely a few forwards playing for their places. He went OK but Johnson must be under massive pressure from Bowden and Green for next week.

Great to see Holdsworth and Ellis out on the pitch tonight, but the biggest plus for me was the effect of being able to interchange Danny H and Azza. Both looked to benefit and Azza's 2 (2!!!) 40 20s were outstanding.

Also great to see Tom Briscoe receive 2 (2!!!) try scoring passes and would have a third but for the head high tackle.

Played some great rugby tonight once we got going. DJ makes a huge difference to our attack as does Heremaia off the bench. We have great balance now too, the right edge looks very dangerous and full of pace and left edge with Ellis back also looks great.

I thought Yeaman answered a few critics tonight, outstanding defence and some nice lines and created a great try for Briscoe. McDonnell was also involved more in attack tonight with DJ being back which is pleasing.

The forwards made some great yards too, Ogre ran hard and Watts was a real handful.

Most importantly DJ and Ellis are fine and new new injury worries for next week.

Heard Westy dislocated his thumb. If true hope it isn't too bad. Thumb injuries can be a few days out to a few weeks depending on severity.

Yes Westerman dislocated his thumb but gentle said that it has gone back in ok and doesn't seem to be any damage there but he is going for scans today but fingers crossed he will be ok.
