Actually I think when we we're on form at the beginning of the season I'm sure he came out and said that all of the credit should go to the players and not him. So either I'm wrong or you're making that bit up. I'm more than certain that it's the latter.

Yep...being a disappointing few weeks but shiit happens, I have faith in Gentle to sort it, may not happen this season but I am sure he will weed it out in time for next season.

anybody knocking Gentle needs to give your head a bang. Its the effort of the players that needs to be questioned, they took the foot off the pedal thinking they had won
It may not be an instant fix but gentle will sort this rot out, dont be suprised to see a promising response from the team next week

Fed up with how this forum is constantly clogged with crap spouted from so called FC fans who call for the coaches head the first chance they get! Yea we've had a batch of incredibly disappointing results, but we need to keep the faith (something we as a fanbase are hopeless at doing). We moan and moan when we should be getting behind the players!

To be fair, he also pointed out it was nothing serious or scandalous. He did also mention attitude.
Too many players on over inflated salaries IMO, Gentle's trying to change things and some don't like it.

Half of me thinks that gentle has done his job in giving us 3 game plans which have been good enough to win the last 3 games, and the other half of me is wondering firstly how well we're mentally prepared and secondly what is being done inbetween games to address the issues we're seeing on the pitch.

Too early to be knocking him but he needs to get us back to doing the good things we were earlier in the season

We listened to Gentle on the way back and obviously we didn't like the result, but I liked his interview. He didn't give the usual crap about "showing character", he said it as he and I would imagine the vast majority of Hull fans there saw it. Some players made stupid decisions and others looked lack lustre and (in my opinion) one needs to get his head out of his arris and start practising catching the ball more (or drop him until he grows up - he's not a Saints player yet). Very disappointing 2nd half, but I didn't think we looked that alert in the first half.

Not much by the sounds of things as we're having to cancel training sessions due to players niggling injury.

TBF to his predecessors, though, they also consistently and accurately pointed out our failings after matches. The problem has not been identifying what has been going wrong, it's been the lack of putting things right. This is hopefully where Gentle will have more about him than the others, as all teams have bad spells. I personally think that taking the season as a whole, Gentle has got us on the right track, and in some ways farther along than I expected. I can well believe the possibility that there may be a few bruised egos having a negative effect ATM with the player turnover seemingly in the offing, but IMO it's a very necessary process as the squad we have clearly isn't up to it. And if there are indeed some players spitting their dummy out, then that's a clear indication that their attitude is not good enough.

Fingers crossed that we get rid of some more of the deadwood and bad apples this winter and see a more unified and consistent team next year.

Agree with all of that I think he does have the where-with-all to take this team forward and his game plans should have given us 3 wins from the last 3. His current playing staff as a unit aren't able to take us to that level though and it will need time for him to change that.

I have to question his decision to play Ellis at 6 today. Why not put Whiting there?

I agree with your sentiment but it seems that Whiting is seen as a back rower and occasional fill in outside back. There can be no doubt that Ellis isn't good enough after today's performance. Miles off.

I think Whiting is predominantly a back rower, but we'd look much better with him at 6 than Ellis. Hope that was his last game this season.

I agree, Ellis is not the answer but more worryingly as poor as he was I thought he was actually better in defense at least than Seymour today!

Same here , With Yeaman fit , we should have gone Whiting 6 .
