Neither Horne nor Hallas played in that last game Hallas with an injury Horne replaced by Rob Nolan. hallas scored in the other late season win at home to Halifax catching a massive up and under to go in just after Horne 'scored' but has his touchdown dissalowed. Scorers in that last tension packed Sheffield Game were Lester Pickavance Harrison Parker and Campbell Steve Prescott kicked 6 goals too.

Just some random memeories: If I remember correctly Rob Roberts got a 40/20 and a young Chris Thorman came on for Sheffield after 30 odd minutes and scored. The great thing was having the radio to your ear to see how Cas were doing at the McAlpine because if Huddersfiled had won our score would not have mattered we were down and as far as lloyd was concerned out!. We went 18-0 and then 30-4 up Rob Nolan played his last game for Hull at 6 and Lester was the man of the match taken close for the title by teenage hooking sensation Paul King!!!. Michael Smith lasted 30 minutes and new signing Pickavance just 51 but he got a great run away try.

we did well at headingley that season too - staged a late comeback and nearly snatched the game with andrew purcell on good form. this game was famous for it being richard hornes debut at the age of 16

Hallas yes just after Horne's try was wiped off by Connelly, now there was a ref who lost the plot on a regular basis.

I remember ofter one match he had a particular bad match and he told a packed 3d bar " that it was not my fault your team was Sh*t" .

I know Lester was one of the players owed money for a while after the takeover, that was down to the Lloyd era.

THe Sheffield game is still my favourite I think
