Quote ="Kosh" Harsh. There's plenty more than 5% of posters who've been against him since he was appointed and didn't change their minds when we had our little successful run. '"
I wouldn't be so sure of that, after the easter weekend a lot of the fans seemed a lot more optimistic even going as far as to saying Obst and gleeson were the steals of the season.
Quote ="Kosh"I think that the squad as it stands now would move from struggling to reach the 8 to top 6 contenders under a decent coach. To step up to top 4 or actual silverware we need some quality signings in key positions - notably Scrum Half.'"
Full back, Stand off, Scrum Half and Prop are all areas I would consider need huge investment.
Quote ="Kosh"The crowd response is, IMO, a result of our pi$$-poor form over the last few seasons. Nobody has any confidence that we will win a tightly contested game or reverse even a 6-point deficit. The fans have had the support beaten out of them. '"
I'm not 100% sure on that. Its a bit like a chicken and egg scenario, you need the crowd behind to help lift you but you need the players to do some business on the pitch to get the crowd behind you. I remember times like Quins away though in 2006, we had just gone unbeaten 13 games (not sure on actual number) and when we lost to quins the players were booed off. Again I point to certain jeering when Motu Tony was receiving kicks and now it seems Sharp is the latest player to endure this treatment. I agree supporters would be a lot better if we were playing better but as a kid my dad would tell me stories of how teams would fear playing the boulevard due to the atmosphere it would create. These days we go 6/12 - 0 down at home and its more then likely game over because understandably so the supporters start to get on the teams back.
Quote ="Kosh"5 years ago IIRC. That's just plain diabolical.'"
Agreed.
You would hope part of that would be down to the SL competition supposedley getting stronger, then you realise Wakefield have posted 50 this year.
Quote ="Kosh"Not every aspect. The infuriating thing is that the non-playing side of the club is run very well. If only we could take advantage of that and sort out the shambles on the pitch.'"
The non playing side is only run well financially, the overall decisions regarding signings and coaching appointments is pretty poor. I wonder how much the club has saved due to low key coaching appointments and some seasons no real star players. Saying that we have spent a bit on transfers but again just not on the right personal.
Quote ="Kosh"I'm never embarrassed by supporting my club. Our performances can be embarrassing though.'"
Each to there own on that one, but the last thing I am at the moment is proud.
