I've never seemed to get this mentality. I happily paid Hull £25 for the good friday derby and never once thought about where my £25 was going, My only thought was supporting my team..

For most fans where the money goes isn't the issue, more the fact we get charged more than usual and the view is awful.

Maybe if we had increased the price 100% for that game maybe you would think twice.

I'll admit the view it truly awful that's never being in doubt. Hopefully in the future as away fans you'll have the North stand and Gold stand at the South end to choose from. Not an ideal situation and I can't blame Rovers for trying to make an extra few quid from the derby.

Good for you, genuinely. I think there are a number of factors here.

Firstly, Hudgell's attitude since promotion has been antagonistic and arrogant. Comments like "soon all the good Hull lads will want to play for Rovers", "put up or shut up" and indeed the whole Cooke campaign, then Morgan saying "It's great to come here and give them a good stuffing" are just unnecessarily provocative for club leaders. I can't imagine McManus saying this sort of thing about Wigan, for example. He's shown us some disrespect in the pricing of the South Stand for many years, such that now we are in reality charged double the real value of standing uncovered in an area with very poor viewing. People don't like this. So when he then says in the paper Rovers need 10k to break even, and Mike Smith rather cockily claims they can tell sponsors the derby is a guaranteed sellout, for those who view this as a 50/50 call as to whether they go or not, it's just another reason not to, not IMO most peoples' primary reason for not going.

Chuck in other factors, such as it probably being on Sky, and Rovers having the best of derby results, and the appeal of standing in what Hudgell he himself calls a wind tunnel and paying £20 for the privilege is just not strong enough. It's not that difficult to understand IMO.

And yet we raised the price by a pound the other year to raise money for charity and all the dobbins complained .... go figure.

I only know the adult price which was £25.00

I paid £1.00 more then the rest of super league but I'm not complaining as it went to charity.
