Hes been poor for most of the season and hes had long enough to settle in,its not as though hes new to playing at superleague level..how he got quins player of the year is beyond me,they must have had some real class turning out for them last year!!

I can understand were your coming from saying its abit early for Lynne but like i say i dont see him being any worse..yes his positional play is an issue but hes got pace and hel only get better..

Not good enough for superleague? He was at Harlequins just as Broughton & Hall are at their new clubs. Always a scapegoat perhaps if he saw the ball more frequently wouldn't have to come looking for it and getting caught out of position because he's covering for others. Not as much passion as Lynne he oozes enthusiasm!

Yeaman/Briscoe don't have a potent, dangerous partnership at all. If i were a winger there would be two centres i would never want to play outside of, yeaman ( shock, horror ) would be one and willy tonga would be the other. The chances of getting anything other than a hospital pass are slim and none.

I never understood the excitement when we signed Sharp. But when a team's edge defence has been so systematically weak under the same coach for so many years, I find it pretty hard to blame the poor sod that happens to be stood there.

Especially when the alternative is Kevin Penny mk2.

Good point we could play the worlds best winger on on that side and he would still get caught out we get sucked in far to often and with to much ease and have done for a number of years something that needs sorting out.

He has made quite a few mistakes but to blame him everytime the opposition work an overlap to that wing is just stupid. You could move Briscoe over there and the same thing would be happening.

Could it work if we moved Horne who is good defensively to the right hand side of the defence to defend outside Whiting and Longy to the left to defend with Yeaman?

Not helped by Whiting and others inside him who often leave him stranded. He does need to improve but on the whole has done well so far.

Hall was a tbf and although we get still get caught out wide at least Sharpe can tackle when he is 1 on 1 something Hall could not do.

To be fair to Sharp , Long and tickle both came out of the line to no effect far too often and Rich Whiting looked as lost as Sharp. Sharp stood out because he was running between the three players he ended up marking. Lets face it we , still , need a scrum half , an off half , a centre , a winger and a full back.

This is another example of out poor defensive pattern isolating our wingers and making them look poor. Tom Briscoe has taken flack over this in the last year or so as well as Calderwood and Lyne. (not to mention the likes of Blacklock before them)

A winger doesn't just choose to randomly leave themselves marking 3 men. They need to rely on the inside defenders numbering up properly and sliding. (where we have seemed lazy for a couple of seasons now)
