| Wakey where not great last night, their passing and general play was like watching us at times, ordinary.
The difference was they didn't try and score off every half break, they built pressure and did the hard work before taking their (very limited) chances.
Like last week, we are showing we are a team who can not play under pressure.
That's worrying.

| Quote ="PHIPPS"It didn't seem a 'tongue in cheek' post from where I'm sitting.
It was at best incredibly bitter and at worst potentially libellous.
The cold hard facts were that your side was outplayed and turned over (at home) by a team lower in the table than Hull FC that you all expected you were going to beat comfortably.
It didn't happen and now you are all looking for an excuse.
Sorry to be blunt about it but thats the way it is.
I'm not a Wakey supporter by the way.'"
I actually said I didn't believe that it was deliberate, but some of the "knock on's" were farsical. One from Long seemed as if he just let go of the ball. I won't deny I am bitter, but nothing to do with Wakefiled. It's a lot more internal than that trust me.

| After last night I decided to 'sleep on it' before putting 'pen to paper'. I am unsure which heading to choose to express my displeasure, because what I want to say will cover most of the current topics.
Having read what has already been written I agree with almost everthing. My view is plain. First last night was grim. I have stated on my previous posts most of my present feelings.
I was against Richard Agar being the head coach for the start of this season started. I was definately against him remaining after the Leeds game. I was not impressed with the Crusaders game and after last night's game only good old fashion Anglo-Saxon words would adequately convey my current feelings.
In the past I suggested that Ricahrd Agar or the board of directors consider giving him a side ways move [I do not like anyone to loose their jobs. This option does not seem to imminent from either party.
I have regularly read that Richard Agar is the had coach because he is the cheap option. I have asked previously on this site, 'What is the cheap option?' I do not know what he is being paid, does anyone one? We may be surprised one day, to learn that he is not/ was not such a cheap option and he in fact was well paid.
I cannot comment on both the Huddersfield and Wigan games because I could not get to the games however I have read all that I can regarding those games.
Returning to the head coach, most of the players have a vested interest in supporting Ricahrd Agar and it goes 'without saying' that so do other coaches.
Regarding the players, in the past I expressed a view that Richard Hornes and Sam Obst should partner each other and that Sean Long should have to 'fight' to regain his place in the team [I have taken into consideration his vast experience, but for whatever reason, he is not 'delivering' and Obst, for me, offers more. That did not happen last night and I saw a different preformance from the half back pairing.
I am also unsure whether the majority of players do support the head coach, judging by some of the performances over the past season or two. It also has been well documented [on this web-site about the style of play and the game plan and general use of the inter changes.
I wonder what the sponsors think at the present time [in particular the main ones.
I hope that Mrs Hetherington and James Rule or one of their assistants regularly look at this web-site.
The anger, dismay and disappointment was evident to me when I left the match. No apparent excuses from the board of directors, the head coach or the players can/should be accepted on this occasion. Many of us have heard most excuses over the years.
On a previous posting I mentioned that last year seven of us went to matches. At the Leeds game there were two and for the other two, just one. I only went because I had bought a pass and I felt by not going I would have wasted my money had I stayed away. This view maybe about to change and I will not consider staying away as my way of a protest [whether it does any good, only time will tell.
I apologize to those would have managed to keep reading the above, I did not mean to go on so long. I consider myself to be reasonable and fairly tolerant but I do believe that the club are taking us supporters for granted.
Oh to be a big winner on the lottery. Rant over.

You and Wellsy don't get any better in defeat - man up. Wakefield played very well end of. If your team had played well you'd probably have won but not by much.
The emphasis is on the home team to entertain, the away team only needs to compete and win, learn to be magnanimous in defeat like most Hull fans have managed.

Bitter at the sad state of our club. Like I said, I think that it was in no way deliberate, but I heard the comment several times last night. We went through player power in getting rid of Kear. Abject performances seemingly without any discernable reason. THis was in no way meant to be disrespectful to Wakey, so sorry if anyone is taking this as a slight. I have a lot of time for Wakefield. It's just looking at some of the errors and body language last night, it's obviosuly brining back memories of times gone by. Maybe a better thread title would have been more appropriate!

And there is the reason many teams will underestimate us. You're wrong IMHO, what Wakefield are is a SL team in the making who for now have far too many players playing regular RL a little too soon.
King, BJ, Rinaldi, Morrison, Korkidas, Blaymire, Hendo and Lee are experienced SL players - how good you think they are is up to you.
The rest are all works in progress, however non of them are from NL1/2, they are all players from top teams who just couldn't break those teams or youngsters from our very successful academy set up. NOT National League.

Howarth Wigan
Marriano HKR

We also have Motu Tony for what that;s worth
On any other night you'd PROBABLY beat us but not because we are a National League standard team whatever that is but because generally we are not quote good enough often enough just yet.

| I think its wrong to suggest it was a deliberate loss but I do think some players are currently less bothered about a defeat than others.
For the Wakey fans thinking we are taking anything away from Wakey, we are not. We've have been making these sort of comments for the last 3 seasons. It has nothing to do with who the opposition happens to be this weekend but more to do with how poor we are.

when is Motu due back in training? I really hope it turns out well for him at Wakefield, he was a fantastic player for Hull and he has had terrible luck with injuries.

Don't know, not played at all so far - hence the for what it's worth. B e a nice addition if we can get him back to fitness but I fear he may be shot. Also will struggle to get picked above Aaron Murphy who is a real goodun.

look, if you are happy with the way you played last night then good for you, I saw two incredibly poor teams on the field, as did just about everyone else.

I'm not bitter, I don't give a flying one what Wakefield do or don't do, you won yesterday, well done, you're now on 0 points. Neither side played well, we were the worst I have ever seen, you were also poor, just nowhere near as bad.
(and FWIW one of your disallowed try's was fine, the referee just didn't see the grounding)
Why is telling the truth seen as bitterness, bewildering.

so you didn't see the game, did you even listen?
we got thumped by inept coaching and a very poor performance, Wakey would not have beaten a well drilled NL1 side.
and I think you'll find I spent a lot of yesterday warning people about taking Wakefield for granted, if you could be bothered to look beyond the end of your nose.

Your side were beaten by a side that not many people really thought would trouble you.
You are understandably a little bit peeved by the fact.
Stop crying about what happened. It's only a game.
Sure, you have a terrible coach. But he will get the sack one day.
Give Wakefield a bit more credit for the fact they thumped you and move on.
You have got Harlequins next week. That should be an easy 2 points for you at least.
