Well its not ideal, but at the end of the day someones got to play the last game on the sunday. Im not really that bothered personally, it'll mean I can sit back and enjoy all of the other weekend's matches and look forward to our game. Plus with only ourselves and Rovers in the stadium the atmosphere will be superb.

That's the main reason behind us not going, 6 weeks after Christmas + my eldest's birthday = a very skint family until at least March!!!

I also pay a fortune for Sky+ HD so at least I'll get my money's worth that weekend!!

our game kicks off at 4pm so it's not as bad as 1st thought

The whole thing is ridiculous. I go home and away to support FC but I'm not hiking all that way to sit in the cold on a Sunday afternoon in February. The concept was nearly right when it was on the Bank Holiday weekend in Cardiff in May and the RFL have just had a brain explosion by doing it this way. As an aside, will the fans be on Agar's back if we get beat by the Dobbins that day? That would mean ending one season with a defeat by them and starting the new one in the same way. I can see there being a huge out-pouring of criticism if we do lose......not the ideal way to start the new campaign.

Of course... and that's the chance you take, because what a fabulous start to the season if we win.

Personally I cant wait - trip and hotel booked for Sunday anyway so the excitement will build up all weekend to it's pinnacle. Still plenty of time for celebration/suicide afterwards. Frankly, the weekend would be a bit of a damp squib if we were one of the first to play.

Indeed, but pitches never had to cope with 7 games in 2 days. By the time the Hull/Rovers game comes around it could be a right mudbath.

Advantage Rovers then. Zod is always telling us how Rovers pack is far far taller and far far heavier than ours.

The problem for us is that the school half term doesn't start until the [ufollowing[/u week, so the kids are at school on the Monday. Had it been the first Sunday of half term (ie the next week), it would have been OK, but not going to take the kids out of school. Don't mind a late night for them on a Friday as they have the weekend afterwards, but this doesn't work for us.
