I would keep him for next year with signing of additional half back. He can cover at half back and full back, hes no world beater but would be decent cover.

His poor options taken would be less important if the game wasnt dependent on them. We should never have been close with Salford meaning his kick near the end should never have been important. Was a woeful 2nd tackle play. Ive seen him do that in a few games and get the feeling no other players are on the same wavelength as theres never a chaser. He needs to let his team mates know what he's doing.

Im still fully in support of Thorman and dont think our tactics help him. Why did we go wide in the first 10 mins and score, and then only repeat it once because we dropped the ball? (we seem scared of trying things)

He didn't drop the mic or run off to the side of the stage and fall off then?

Cant believe I'm saying this but I would rather have a battered and bruised Adam Dykes ahead of Thorman at present!

We need pro active half back not re-active. its their job to MAKE things happen not wait for someone else to do their job

He has been very poor imo. He has not had one competitive game where he has put in an all round good performance yet. He showed flashes against Bradford and Hudds (more so against Bradford) but most other times he has been invisible. The only plus I can think of so far is his short kicking game

Doing what I expected, think he game is being rescricted by the coachs game plan.

Richard Horne has been just as poor the last few games, but hasnt come in for any of the critism that Thorman has.

Wonder why that is!

Horne has been poor these past few games. It really annoyed me that all he seemed to do was 'show and go' for the majority of the game on Sunday, but he has actually shown how good he can be this season which differs to Thorman. Horne just needs to get his head screwed on, whereas I'm not sure Thorman's performances are due to a lack of form rather than a lack of quality

Horne isn't supposed to be organising the team and putting the accurate kicks in though, thats Thormans job and he isn't currently doing it. Also Horne isn't the one making stupid decisions to kick early in the tackle count. He hasn't been brilliant I agree but Thorman has been far worse in terms of what their role is supposed to be.

Horne set a fair few of our tries up with his short kicks in the opening 5 games, he has stopped doing it.

FWIW im not blaming any players. Ive made it clear where i think the blame lies.

Also Hornes dfence seems very ppoor this year, not as good as it use to be, much worst than Thormans.

He doesn't have the size he used to have thats why. Also Thorman is far worse in defence.

He hasn't had the chance because Thorman is putting kicks in on the 1st 2nd and 3rd tackle.

Think they've been on a par. Horney has struggled most with this aspect of his game since returning. He'll be back as time progresses.

My thoughts exactly. CT is constantly driven back in the tackle and is always in a bad position to control the ruck. Thats not to say Horne has been brilliant this year either.

Which of course won't show up on the stats.

Which is on reason why I don't like to rely on them.

What? The comment was made that Thorman has been worse than Horne defensively. I was merely pointing out that it was an inaccurate statement.

Ive also said on here numerous times im not blaming the players, its the coaching thats wrong, but the stats exist for a reason and like it or not the coaches do use them!

No ones relying on them, they are there to inform a discussion with the correct context.

Those stats are meaningless without context.
