My fear is we end up having to play it midweek and it means we play three times in a week including all that travel, would potentially cost us points. Unless both clubs go out of the CC early I don't see another way.

I have already put it to the club via a contact as an idea. My suggestion is around the time when the Dragons visit Hull KR in late June. I did post earlier in this thread.

Catalans to forfeit home advantage and play on a neutral ground (Craven Park or Donnys ground) in England on Weds 8th August.

They are in England for the week as they play Hudds on the prev Sunday and us on the one after

for the record - forgetting the revenue to the club lost by the fixture cancellation some good did come out of all this

By Sunday May 13, a decision can be made. The Challenge Cup last four will be known. If both Hull and Catalan are out of the cup by then, play the rearranged game in Catalan on Semi Final weekend, Saturday July 14. Plenty of time to arrange flights, hotels etc during that period.
If Hull or Catalan are still in the cup on May13, then play the game in Catalan on Saturday August 11, when we are supposed to play them at home, then play the KC game midweek when Cats already in this country.

Just give us the 2 points then everyone will be happy. No need to travel again (for either players or fans) and we'd be one game lighter if we get to the play offs.

If we (or they ) are still in the cup for the Semi finals and we have to play in France, the best date would be Tuesday 7th August. We play Friday 3rd then Sunday 12th.

Might mean they have to rearrange their game on the weekend before to an earlier day.

What about the under 21's play this match vs Les Cats U-21's? Radford's boys have shown up well in pre-season, dunno about the french kids.

In fairyball it's OK for teams to field "weakened" teams in the event of a fixture pile up. Be nice if both teams could agree on this.

these modern day SL pros are super fit - three games in a week won't kill them and both clubs have big enough squads to shuffle the players around if required

How about looking at Catalans fixture list and finding two consecutive away games and wedge it the middle of that on a neutral ground over here? If Rovers can swap to the KC for a game becuase their ground is not fit for purpose so can Catalans! Surely!
