| Shaully was obviously lacking game time but his experience in the full back position shone through in marshaling his defence.
In the pre match Sky interview, Tony Smith had a big smile when announcing that Jamie was back in the team.
I know lots of fans have wrote Jamie off, but let's watch this space.

Bit harsh mate, was enjoying the game
Seriously though, what a performance, will look forward to watching it again.
What a coach Smith is, thought we had no chance with that side, but he seems to get them playing.
Massive well done to Shaul.

| Looking on the Saints forum, they're not happy. I don't think they need to worry. Too much. I still think they'll be in the mix when both trophies are handed out.
They've just won the last 4 super league titles and won a cup in that time too. I Don't think a Thursday night away at Hull; who put in a top quality determined, thou shalt not pass performance should put them into panic mode.
I think their fans are the favourites for a trip to Wembley this year and while they possibly won't win a fifth straight title. They're gonna be in the mix.
They should just let us have this one and say that tonight was Hull's night. They beat us in the big one on Saturday

| I’ll repeat what I said on a different thread a couple of weeks ago.
I’ve been losing interest in the game generally, but Tony Smith is making me fall in love with my team again.

| Sutcliffe snd Swift have gone well for us this season individually but it's gonna be a tough call for Tony to have to leave any of tonight's performers out. I'm sure they will come back in, but it'll be a tough call to make.
Even Joey in the second row. While not being spectscular, he put a solid shift in for a player that hasn't played first team for almost two months and in a new role for the team.

| Brilliant tream performance last night, so good to see. Really pleased for Savelio and McIntosh who have done it tough this year, dropped and out of favour but clearly both have not spat their dummy out but worked hard and got the benefits.
I really hope Clifford sticks around for another year. Such a classy and skillful player. Hopefully his missus still has plenty of places in Europe she wants to visit
Still a lot of work to do to make the play offs, we probably need to win seven out of the eleven games left in the regular season. However Tony Smith seems to have brought a real togetherness to the squad and with momentum who knows?

| Savelio last night - 187 metres, 20 carries and 31 tackles.
170 metres for McIntosh on top of his try and two assists.

| Woke up today thinking I’d dreamed that.
I know I’d bagged Mcintosh a few times this season alone but he was great last night, probably a confidence player who needed a couple of good games to really emerge.
Feels like a lifetime since we had his sort of pace in the team. One criticism is he’d be faster if he didn’t rush to pin his ears back and instead put his head down and really pumped for a bit. The bigger quick wingers are good examples.

| Some result that. Thought you guys were exceptional.
Saints turned up with an arrogance from weekend and FC just didn’t allow them to get in the groove. People could argue saints were off it, not for me thought the defence of you lot never allowed them to be on it. It’s how you’ve got to play against them and was very similar performance and style to what I saw at craven park earlier in the year. Maybe teams are working them out, which is great for the league as a whole.
Mcintosh very good, Savelio very good, Sao was massive in D. Thought cam Scott looked lovely as well have hurrell nightmares all game. Clifford and trueman seems to be working well together as well.
Always good to see saints get knocked down a peg or two.Fair play

I’ve always been a strong supporter of his as I feel there is a decent rugby player in there.
He is very much a confidence player and think his injury affected him more than we realise.
Not getting carried away, and I’m sure there will still be the odd brain fart and error, but he’s the sort of player TS could help enormously if he takes on board what he is being told?

For me, it is the small details that TS is instilling in the players. Savelio, change in attitdude. Brown stated in the HDM this week about the changes he has been working on. With McIntosh, the way he is running it in on exit sets, he is really hitting in between two defenders, and getting his nose through. Really impressive

| Never in doubt
Someone mentioned it above, but we have really had a hard time of it over the past few years. Hammerings, awful recruitment, all made going to games feel a chore. There is still plenty of work to be done, but it is clear that there is massive strides been made both on the pitch and off it in terms of attitude and culture. And it is all down to Tony Smith.
Huge result for our season, there's always a team that sneaks the play offs with a late push. Hopefully we keep players like Trueman/Clifford fit and it would give us a fighting chance.

If we can keep playing with that desire, effort and intensity from now until the end of the season we will give ourselves a chance and if not we can look back and say it wasn't for the lack of trying.
With results as they have been across SL I wouldn't like to predict anything as teams you'd expect to see win when looking at fixtures haven't. The teams above us will all lose points between now and end of the season as no doubt we will but it gives up a chance and something to aim for however slim that might be.
I said at half time to the guy next to me that if we lose the game I would be disappointed but would have no real complaints as the effort had been unreal in that first 40mins and thoroughly enjoyed it. When Bell scored in the 2nd we all must have had a thought of he we go St's are going to get on a roll but then to reply with another score ourselves I was pretty confident we had the resolve and attitude to see out the game.
That is a massive plus and shows the complete change within the club brought about by TS.
I have to say I am now back to looking forward to going to games rather than trudging to them under sufferance.
As an aside it was nice to see Wellens give credit to us for a deserved win which makes a change for an opposing Coach.

I don't know how much TS is on, but definitely much better value for money.
